I am currently banned from a website, and it says my ip address is banned. Anyway I went to another computer on my network, and it said the same thing.

It has to be my linksys wireless router that got banned. I was just wondering how I change the ip address on the router or whatever got banned.

I think you might be banned for a reason?

The IP is the one issued from your internet provider. There is no way to switch it without using some kind of cloaking software or using a proxy.

You were banned for a reason. Just forget the site and move on.

Its another tech forum, I had 2 accounts, cause 1 for home and one for school. I think I posted a reply to the one at home when I was at school, and then everybody knew that I had 2 accounts. So that forum decided to ban me. I already contacted the admin, and I even sent them a message saying I would pay them to unban me, but nothing happened yet.

yeah, I forgot all about proxy sites, mainly cause its a major violation at school.

Thank you for reminding me about proxy sites. I am not at school, and I just have to remember only to use them at home. One kid at school got kicked out for getting caught trying to use a proxy site, and he was caught just for searching proxy sites in google and trying them out to get passed the schools firewall.

Why are you trying to PAY to stay on a forum? You must be REALLY devoted...

And with the proxy thing... that sucks.

Teachers at my school use proxies when the projector is on...

And if they see us using a proxy then they say to exit the site if an administrator comes in... lol

no admin will accept your payment and unban you.
you should have talked to them about duplicate account
and additionaly, it was you (regardless of from school or home), not another family member so you have no option.

Why would you need 2 accounts just for school and home?

If you need a different IP address, go with a host that offers Dynamic IP. Good for if you need to download from Rapidshare as you can disconnect & reconnect & get around those time limit restrictions :D

Personally I just unplug my router for a few seconds and I get a new IP. Otherwise try calling your ISP.

Hey man thanx for that info. I hated waiting when downloading multiple files from there. I bought Battlefield 2, and I needed the 2nd disc, so I just downloaded it from rapidshare. Don't know why I didn't get that 2nd disc with battlefield 2, but oh well.
