No, you should have unique tags for each page.

 

absoultely... optimize URL, H-tags, title tags, image names, keywords, keyword density and linking on every single page.....have fun

 

much better if you optimize every page of your site to achieve higher rankings. so how to do it? through proper using of keywords, H tags, alt attributes and keep on posting informative content

 

My lead programmer said that H1 tags have NO effect what so ever....

its possible.. but not easy.. its really based on the time you spend.. I believe you shound optimize the ones that you believe will make you the money

like dont opt your "contact us" page or "about" page .. i think you get the point, stay mainly on the juicy pages then when u get time do a little on the smaller pages

 

i want to, but i dont do, it will take you many times. only do some important pages.

 

the real question is are you ready to do it ? or do you have the time to do it, because of course it's true, also it can be a very hard and time consuming task if you own a static html website, but when you are using a Seo friendly CMS, or better yet a CUSTOM Seo CMS, things become very easy. you can optimise all the pages from the Admin area, am talking about on-page optimisation because you still need to get deeplinks if you want your internal pages to get high rankings in the Serps.
