Anyone use Actinic's Froogle Base feed?

    Title says it all.

We use Actinic's Froogle Base and so far haven't received any sales from it. Our prices are definitely the best, as we have revised several competitors prices and have managed to reduce our prices accordingly. However, we don't get sales from Google Base, nor do we get traffic.

    Anyone know why?

The site is the first in my signature.

    Thank you

    Spider-man,

have you seen your site appear in the Google Product rankings?

I have clients who are are noticing the wide use of the Google product results in the SERPs.

No, not particularly. Using the site:www.domain.com function, we do have around 1900 products listed - but even searching for the products they rarely ever show up - as Google Base sorts 'by relevance' by default. However, we only show up when users notice they can actually sort by price. Which the majority of users wouldn't do as it isn't exactly a highlighted option.

Is there any other sites similar to Google Base which are free and don't charge a fortune, such as Ciao, Kelkoo, Dooyoo, etc?

    Thanks

We sell a few on Google Base. People DO notice the sort by price, as we are price leaders but not first on relevancy.

The sales are not a lot, and seem hardly worth the effort in putting for the product feed.

A few products do fairly well, such as the Bluetooth Dongle however.

I blame the biggest part of it not being used by more people on the fact that listings are spammed with eBay adverts. If a seller offers 10 listings for a product, Google may show all 10, despite the fact they are identical, and should be dupe-filtered out.

Free auction sites or classifieds maybe? eBid, gumtree, etc...

    Your mileage may vary.

don't overlook craigslist as a source of sales... you are putting in the time for google base with no results trying craigslist costs nothing and will likely show some results.

    Craigslist?

Now, isn't that bordering greyhat and blackhat methods? I thought Google frowned upon Craigslist? Or perhaps that is only for Adsense traffic.
