You should try social bookmarking. Site Position is quickly encrase on Search Engine by social bookmarking. Submite you site link with you site main keywords.
You can submit press release for your site in news sites which will help you. Social bookmarking is also a good option. Thank's
only directory submission wont help to achieve top ranking. you should do article submissions, press release submissions, blogs, forum pstings to get back links.
Best bet to get one way back links is Writing at Squidoo, Hubpages and Blogging. if you go for blogging, make sure you place link on post instead of main index. This way you will have as many back links as post (For this you will have to configure hack in your blogspot blog).
Directory submission is not bad, if you have time to do it, do as much as you can do. For getting your website in ranking of Top 10 do, Forum post, comment post on related blog those having very high traffic, blogging, social bookmarking and linkbaiting.
