Yeap I find this a far too sweeping statements. Some professional freelance to earn extra money, of course there are bound to be bad hats as at everywhere, but to say that freelancers are noobs is too sweeping a statement. Some doctors freelance as locums, are they noobs? Some engineers freelance as consultants, are they noobs?

Yeap some are truly horrible I can imagine how you feel especially if you have a deadline to meet. But some freelancers are fantastic though, it is just a matter of luck I guess. Better luck next time pal!

It depends on what is the payment mode, if it is Paypal, I think you can forget about it as it is a service. But for credit card you may be able to try a chargeback.

Im not a noob. I freelance. Been doing it for years. I have a lot of clients and do a great job. Sorry about the bad apple, but please dont go around calling freelancers, noobs OR noobs, freelancers. We are a strong professional group and work hard for all of our clients.

Its the noobs, that give us real freelancers a bad name.

It seems you're the n00b as you're the one out of pocket, don't make statements like that, people won't like it.

I can see why you're annoyed though. If you payed through Paypal you may have a slim chance of getting the money back. Or as others have said get a chargeback.

share your project details, and hour rate and what goes wrong with it.
I've seen too many people who want a $10k project for $100 always require more and more new features and refuse to pay saying that it is halfdone!

In future make sure you only escrow funds and not release them until the job is done, if you escrow the funds you can get them back - especially if the other guy refuses to communicate.

Always be wary of folks who introduce themselves like: "We are a team of design professions from India[or wherever]" because they are not, they're usually school kids trying to wing it, with no real clue what they're doing.
