Also, it is identifying the spaces between my posts on my blog as empty areas, and I suppose that might be annoying to someone scrolling down.

airraid81: We do have a good option for what you're talking about. In the empty space detection options you can choose "Let Me Decide". Then you can add the class attribute "ESAemptyspace" to your <body> tag. Then the ads will only appear in those portions of your website. From the look of yours this will be just the margins. Plus you have to consider that the ads will *never* appear unless the user moves their mouse to the empty space of your website. If they never move to the empty space, they'll never see the ads.

Please keep up the honest feedback folks. I know this isn't perfect, but I want to make it better with your help!

Is there some way to make those ads that display blend in with a site more?

    Hey JigSawMan:

What are you looking for? I want the ads to be distinctive and have their own brand identity. However, I understand where you're coming from. Keep in mind you control the content of the ads... and that users would only see it when they move their mouse to the empty space of their website.

Well, after some sleep I thought about my question. I guess it would be goofy to have it blend in and NOT look like and ad after all. The reason I think this now is because if it did blend in, it might only look like it was hidden content of the site that people might wonder why about. So scrap my question :)

    David,
So far my biggest concerns are lack of information. Your terms of service dont really say much. Can I put affliliate links on the insite links? Are there going to be more ad networks soon? At what point is there a pay out. Things like this!

Also every ad served has your logo on it, and if they click the logo or the Advertisement part they go to your website, do we get a referral commission? Is there some sort of revenue sharing program?

Right, the point of the logo was to build the brand identity of the ads and help users understand that this is an advertisement. I have thought about some type of affiliate program where you get credit if someone signs up from your site and starts making money. I will add it to our feature request list. I'm the founder and unfortunately the only employee, but I'll do my best to get to all the requests.

These are great points. This is really our first public launch so there are definitely some things to fix up. Getting a clearer Terms of Service is definitely one of my priorities, so expect that in a couple weeks. In the meantime, I can answer your questions: I don't see any reason why you can't put affiliate links within the ads that appear on your site. Next, I'd like to say there will be more networks soon, but I can't promise when. I do envision supporting multiple ad networks in the future however. Rest assured I'll update all of our users when this changes.

And payouts? Have you taken a look at http://www.emptyspaceads.com/publisher/how_do_i_get_paid ? Basically the payouts are delivered by the ad networks we've integrated with. We share revenue 50/50 with you, and the ad networks pay us directly. Also, you can create your own ads that point to portions of your website you monetize well. Again we won't be paying you directly, but with more users hitting the 'buy a t shirt page', or 'join my email list', you're better able to monetize your existing site visitors using real estate that you didn't know you had.

Thanks for all the great feedback, please keep it coming!

So I have looked over http://www.emptyspaceads.com/publisher/how_do_i_get_paid and I have some issues that you may want to look into. You say 50% of the time you serve my Id and 50% of the time you serve your id. What if you there is a much larger percentage of clicks on your ids? Do I just loose out due to luck? If you are making 75% and I am making 25% and the 75% you are making is on higher dollar items it seems that I get the short end of the stick... VERY short end! Is there a way to address that?

I've thought about this but I don't see a great way to solve it. The only way I could think of would be to keep all of the revenue and then pay out later to be sure it's really 50%. The only problem is... it would be very hard, if not impossible to track which publisher generated which revenue. I'd need to have a separate campaign for each publisher and the payment process would be manual and time-consuming. Yes it's possible that the ad could have more clicks when our publisher ID is used.... but it's just as conceivable that the ad could be clicked on more with your publisher ID. Over time, statistically, the payments will approach 50/50. Once we have better integration with ShoppingAds and other networks, we'll be able to offer true 50/50 commissions. Does this sound reasonable?

I think this might work for me.

    I'm looking into it.

Reasonable, maybe, but again there are alot of variables here to be concerned with. When money is involved people do not like variables. They want to know that when somebody clicks on an ad that makes money, they get money. Is it hard to code? Hard to fix? Difficult to integrate? Maybe, but if it were easy, everybody would be doing it.
