I noticed both companies use the Microsoft ADecn platform. I'm signed up with both, but just got into FOA. Somebody is going to be the back up and I wanted to know the experiences of other webmasters to determine who should be on the bench. I'm signed up with Adbrite too, but I don't feel like waiting 90 days for a paycheck. I've noticed alot of complaints about FOA's passthrough rate, but I had the same problem with Canep initially. After a while the passthrough rate dropped as it seems that the ad network needs time to adjust to the new ad spots. I'm assuming the same thing for FOA. FOA is claiming 80% revenue share which is higher than Caneps 55% revenue share which is why I wanted to check them out anyway besides the need to diversify in general. All these things seem speculative to me because at the end of the day you're looking at the eCPM. I know about other good ones, but these weren't hard to get into. Please let me know what you think.
I'm not going to respond to your question because my opinion on the matter is biased. However I did want to clarify that the revenue share of Canep Media is 60% in favor of the publisher, not 55%.
Hi, Just email us at or send me a PM via DP. We usually have a 24 hour turnaround time. As far as the better network, you will most likely have similar results with any network that trades on AdECN. This is because we trade inventory automatically through the exchange. However, some sites seem to work better than others and I encourage you to experiment to find the network that provides the best solution, whether they run on AdECN or anything else. Good luck
Thank you guys for your responses. I've tested FOA and must say that I'm impressed. I know earlier they had a payment problem which made me think twice. Canep has always been stable. I really like the ADecn platform in general because its easy to use. I tested a wide skyscraper at the bottom of my website and saw that the ad spot went from $0.06 to $0.09 eCPM when switching over to FOA. I don't know if that works on a larger scale, but I am glad that I'm testing these things out. Both companies are good either way you slice it. I also put in adsdaq and will compare. Those eCPMs are low in general, but my current traffic doesn't really scroll to the bottom all that often. In all fairness, the eCPMs are much higher at the top.
This statement is not accurate. I cannot speak for other networks, but Canep Media restricts some campaigns and advertisers to only run on our own publisher's websites. You will not see the same results when advertising with different networks on AdECN. It is true that inventory is traded between seat holders for increased liquidity. However, there should still be a significant difference between how well different sites perform from one network to another.
Thank you for your suggestion! Well, I'm now already away from CPM, so, will contact you guys if I would like to use CPM again in the near future. Good Luck with your business!
I'd have to disagree with you here on accuracy. The objective of an ad exchange is liquidity and flexibility. With over 40 networks on the exchange, the hope is that the movements of one individual network will not affect the overall volume and characteristics of transactions on the exchange. We also run a few exclusive campaigns internetwork, since we can verify the content and quality within our own network. We also run ads from any separate inhouse platforms that we may have used. However, running on any AdECN network, similar to running on any Right Media network, will produce similar results because of the fact that it is an ad exchange. Therefore, it's recommended that you also look at other factors such as support services and payment options when selecting an ad network. Thanks for replying. We look forward to you partnering with us.
Thank you both for the input. I was dissatisfied with adsdaq because everything was passed through even at $0.06 eCpm. Also, the ease and flexibility of the Adecn platform is far better than their platform. I appreciate the fast response from both parties and wish all of you the best. I really like the cpm concept because I'd rather have all of my traffic monetized as opposed to just having some. Its easier to predict future earnings, thus less of a chore to make adjustments to increase income.
