Now with so many endings its amazing that many people still can't get the domain name they want. .ws is another option. They do sell the .ws ending alone but most people know it from the MLM (networking) program Global Domains International - though at $10 a month you don't get involved just for the domain name alone of course (there is hosting, emails, and more). I find I like the website with the easy inbuilt editor its good for noobs who want to start their online website but aren't that good with HTML etc. And yes before you argue I do have a growing downline, but I used it for the PRODUCT first. I have a .ws domain and am promoting the opportunity with it so I just left the default page. I've had quite a few prospects but no sign ups yet. I'm hopeful though. I think it's one of the best opportunities I've seen in a long time. I even ended up on the mailing list of one of the testimonal people on the front page, don't know how that happened. But I like them because they're very motivational. Going to work on promoting some more today. I can't wait to make my first $1,000. Should be fun.

I have between 10 - 20 signups a month. I think an underused part of the package is the email addresses you can set up. For internet marketers who use safelists and the like - it can be a great tool for junk email boxes and the like. As with any internet service if you pay money for it make the most out of the service and the opportunities.
In my opinion .ws is not any better or worse than .com, .info., etc. When you can't get the domain you want in .com you can try getting it in .ws. Even google and other major companies has a .ws domain. When coming up with a domain name we should include a targetted keyword in the domain name to get a good chance at ranking high in search engines.
.ws started out strong but now it has become nearly dead! More and more people across the world however, are realizing that there is a country named Western Somalia!
I signed up with them but was unimpressed with their hosting... slow... and it didn't make sense to be paying $10 bucks a month for a domain name, or to promote the "opportunity," when you can register for a year for less than $10. As with most MLMs, the people who get in early, and bring their existing downlines with them do well and have great stories to tell about how much they are making, but those who come in later and don't have a group to follow them struggle and struggle... I used to work on the "inside" so I know how the game is played. As a new "distributor" in any of these companies, you only get part of the story...
I thought about getting a .ws for my proxy site, i decided against it. Alot of non-computer people who use proxies just dont remember it.
You are so right, that why .com is still the best choice because if you just remember the name but not the ending you will always try .com first.
