Whatever you do Ladies and gentlemen, if you post your domains in the Marketplace section, DO NOT for heavens sake feel tempted to bump your threads to the top of the page, if you do so, you'll receive Infraction Points for each time apparently if you do it.

I only just found this out, and received a whole bundle of them all in one go, one off only, from getting a complete ban from the forum altogether, which seems a little over the top but there you go.

I have requested too of DigitalPoint that they do something about the Domaining Marketplace section, as the single category there absolutely no way can it handle the huge number of fresh domain names being offered for sale.

Ideally it needs to be split off into sub sections just as they are on many other forums, which would allow more new threads to stay on page one for longer and have the benefit of more people then being able to see the offerings up for trade under offers, buy or sell.

In my opinion, hoping to bundle all of this into one category is absolutely hopeless, as threads disappear so fast off the page into oblivion, it's not even funny.

If DP took a page or a leaf out of NamePros, or DomainState, or Encron, or DNF - they would see instantly how not only this problem could be resolved, but too it might just help everyones domaining efforts to be that much more successful and too would give buyers as well, including developers and webmasters here at DP more opportunity to see some of the names on offer.

So far, it appears that my recommendations on this have totally been ignored, which is I think, a tad odd, to say the slightest, indeed, one is almost frightened of breathing on this forum for fear of receiving yet further Infraction Points.

Will DP see that some members here are actually trying to make some points for the overall good of the entire community and this silly handing out of infraction points for such minor 'offences' is not only childish, but also portrays them themselves in rather a bad light.

DP should be working with their good users here and listening to the needs of community members to help make DP not just enjoyable and safer for everyone, but too cutting back and taking action on the real scam and con artists that seem to abound here.

This I would think would be the commonsense approach.

No doubt though, they'll take one look at this thread and instantly ban me, which is the final irony.

It's daft that instead of listening to community members and perhaps their worthwhile suggestions, instead they take these as a threat and ban or wave a big mod stick at you for even daring to make any mention of how some improvements, might be made.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

All of you, enjoy your domaining, remember what I said about not bumping threads and have a wonderful weekend.

Wrong forum. Another infraction, probably. You really should read the forum rules and pay more attention to them instead of whining about how crap it is here.

Well there's a surprise. What you perceive as a 'whine' as you so succinctly put it, is simply helping out others, please do not jump to false assumptions.

Now, if I had placed it in the Domain Marketplace, that would be the wrong section, if it were placed in the General Chat section, that would be wrong too, if it were in the Domain Appraisals section, that most certainly would be wrong, so rather than being SO pedantic about this, why not kindly suggest as most ordinary people would normally do, to which section this should be placed in to avoid another utterly silly infraction?

Would this not be more helpful?

Can you honestly not see that this is a helpful thread aimed towards my fellow domainers?

What is wrong with you guys that all you can do, is to go around calling, infraction this, infraction that willy nilly all day long without actually paying any attention to the good suggestions being offered?

May I suggest spending less time dishing out silly infractions or threats thereof and more time spent on doing your job properly?

Seriously, if you were in my company some of you, collectively you'd be hauled into my office for the biggest kick up your collective backsides you'd ever experienced in your entire lives.

Stop treating everyone like they're 10 years old.

It's just unbelievable the lack of manners you guys show.

    Yours sincerely

I take it you ARE a mod in this section, or are you just pretending to be one?

If the latter, would that not too be cause for one of your infractions of which you so fondly speak of?

Are you a Mod or not?

I am merely making the observation that since you have decided to create this whinge thread in the Domain Names forum rather than in the General Chat or Suggestions & Feedback forum where it belongs you are likely to receive another infraction, which is precisely what you are complaining about.

Seriously, if you had taken a few minutes to actually read the forum rules you would have been aware from the outset that you may not bump your sales threads... but clearly your sense of entitlement appears to put you above such petty trifling issues as conforming to the rules of these forums.

This thread is about you complaining you were given infractions, not about 'helping your fellow domainers' as you so grandly put it - don't kid yourself.

Suggestions belong in the Suggestions & Feedback forum. ;)

What would be my job then? Do tell, I'm curious as to what you perceive as being my 'job'.

Ah, there's that sense of entitlement again.

I really don't know mate, the way you are writing this to me, it sounds to me as though you are a mod, but you didn't answer that question I notice.

The thread was placed here purely to warn others as helpful advice, not to whinge as you put it. You are jumping to conclusions on my motives, and to be honest the opinion you proffer in this instance holds no water, since quite simply on this count you are wrong.

However, just as with anyone else you are of course entitled to your opinion, whether it be a mile off from the truth or not.

I'm not here to argue with you buddy and finally, allow me to spell it out so that you do not get so confused again, that this thread is here purely to warn others to not make the same mistake I did, for which I take full personal responsibility.

I hope that sits with you ok, if not, well, shrugging my shoulders, there's not a fat lot I can do to change such crazy assumptions.

    Enjoy your day too.

Mate, are you a nutjob or something? Where did I mention or claim anywhere in my three (short) sentence reply that I was a Mod?
All you seem to write are posts complaining about how dreadful this forum is and how awful the Mods are or someone else. You only joined these forums in Dec yet you feel you alone are the way to the light of Internet Nirvana. Start a cult or something.

I've come to the conclusion that your cracked.

All you've done so far in this thread is to take this subject way off topic.

Seriously, I have no idea where you are coming from and frankly I don't want to know either.

Please stay off this thread if you cannot contribute positively.

    Many thanks.

    Mark Magawr

PS I see your now following me around my other threads posting up similar remarks.

    Very strange.

    I believe that should be "you're". ;)

Mind-reading is not one of my strongest skills.

There's that sense of grandiose entitlement again. Guess what? On a public forum such as DP, people are entitled to post replies. :)

How is making a humourous response in any way similar to what I have written here?

God NO! think of it this way, there are 10,000 new threads per day in some sections, if you were allowed to do bump every 24 hours, there would probably be 50 to 100,000 active threads in each forum, it would be total meltdown.

    TO THE THREAD O.P.

You really just need to learn to give up mate, I got a few points for a misplaced thread (that I still say wasnt), I complained about it, got more infractions and so on... Im walking a tightrope now for another few weeks until I lose the first infraction points (Ive got 9.... its like having 11 points on a driving license lol).

Basically, your NOT GOING TO WIN, SO DONT BOTHER AND MOVE ON, its the best advice I can give!
