    Metallica for sure, the only reason U2 are still around is because of Live Aid, does the Edge really deserve that name? i dont think he does, hes not that good.

    I especially like the fact that Robert Trujillo joined Metallica

    Lol...they are totally two unrelated bands. I myself play metal and early metallica stuff contains some of the finest riffs ever in the history of metal. Metallica in truth though haven't produced anything of note in the past twenty years but their first four albums alone will put them forever in the annals of heavy metal while U2 isnt metal at all.

    Yep..pretty hefty guy too..But skill wise,he is a cut below the great Cliff Burton. Cliff was different class IMO..

    I like and hate them both for different reasons but if I had to chose between the two for the sake of the question posed to us here, in this the Metallica or U2? thread, I would have to say **Metallica

    i voted for metallica, however, their last 3 albums wasent so good, i really like muster of puppets, ride the lightning, justice for all and the black album.

    Both quite commercial, both quite old and both not very special to me. I go for Metallica but i like some U2 songs as well.
