Are people lazy to do a bank transfer when they have PayPal?

Are people lazy to go to a bank and complete bank transfer when they can do it from home via PayPal or there's something else in it? I had a buyer for a web-site but he only wanted to pay through PayPal.

With PayPal not available in the South-Eastern European country I live in, I proposed bank transfer, Western Union or any other way he proposes, I was also willing to send a copy of my ID and anything else which will give him more assurance in who I am as a real person than he can get through online money transfer.

Furthermore, would people find it bothersome to do a bank transfer with the smaller amounts like $20 sales?

Well, Paypal is convenient because it is done online and can be done anywhere.

It is not always easy to pop into the bank because if you are living in the rural areas, chances are the bank may be many miles away which makes it inconvenient for some.

Banks also have banking hours which usually is shorter than regular working hours and at times, I find myself having to take a half day leave just to go to the bank.

Apart from that, Bank transfer (wire transfer/telegraphic transfer) and Western Union are costly for the sender. Some bank charges a flat rate of probably about $20 to $40 per transfer or some charges a percentage of the amount of funds to transfer and a minimum charge. For small amounts, it would probably negate the benefits for the sender because they may have to be paying more in charges than the amount that is being sent.

Here is an example of charges : https://web.da-us.citibank.com/cgi-bin/citifi/portal/ps/detail.do?M_M=S&BS_Id=WireTransfers

Wire transfer also means you have to fill in some very complicated form.

Paypal is pretty much free for the sender and fast and they can do it anytime when they are free to send.

I have a client who also prefers to pay by Paypal only and that too by his Credit Card. Each time he transfers money, a sizable chunk of money is deducted as fees. Is there any way of reducing this amount even while using Paypal ? I dare not ask anything which would make his task complicated.

    Thanks
