No, not applying for an editor. I mean after learning that your site was not listed and you've been waiting for the result of your submission for ages.
We don't send rejection notices. many on here complain about that, so how the op got something we don't do, is anybodies guess. Perhaps the op would like to first check that this is the right directory ODP/DMOZ
The OP never said he received a notice, he probably just noticed that his site wasn't listed on DMOZ, months after submitting.
And the most common reason for that is that no editor has reviewed the site yet. Depends a lot on which category it was suggested to.
If op was not talking about an email, wonder how the op learned of rejection, on all occassions they are certain and in the first a particular timeframe is suggested about how did you feel after...
Probably didn't meet there quality guidelines. I think your site should have a good Alexa ranking and aged a bit before you submit to DMOZ.
As it happens, we don't pay any attention to either of those metrics. The watchwords are content, content, content .
A lot of people have found if they aren't accepted after several months in the category they think their site is best suited, move to a new category, submit, and you'll get another chance at acceptance. 'tis strange, but I can't personally vouch for the authenticity of this working out.
