Vermont lawmakers seek to pull Guard from war

    Why doesn't surprise me that the States with a secession movement would be working proactively to get their guards back? Good for them.

    This is ultimately the answer. If a state bill is passed, it won't be worth the paper it's written on.

    Sticky situation for the FEDs. They either admit that Iraq still poses a threat, which undoes all of the surge rhetoric, or they admit that things are under control and their authorization has expired.

    this is what the state rep has said. The gov has said

    I do hope they have some success on the road to getting our troops back home. With the surge being touted as a success, it's seems the perfect opportunity to declare our victory and get the hell out.
