How long before search engines find links

I just established new backlinks to my site, How long does it take for the search engines to find these new backlink so I can benefit from them?

 

There is no set limits for it... Sometimes links can be found within minutes and sometimes you have to wait months...

If it's a link from the popular site with dissent traffic it should not take more than few days...

 

no one exactly knows...its SEs job...

 

Well it depends on the site you have your link, how often the search engine robots visit that site and of course the higher the pr the better.

 

I have a question here.
Should we tell the SE or google that we have a link from somewhere?

For example:
My site is a.com
I created a link from b.com. I go to digg or some popular site and create a post on b.com where i put the link, so that google will crawl that b.com and find that b.com is linking to a.com

????? Am i explaning correctly. Will that make google to reconize my link faster?

only SE's can answer that one treeline5 because we don't know their algo.,

 

I've seen Google index links within a matter of HOURS... then again I've seen it take weeks.

 

hours days weeks months who knows?

 

no one really know the answer, but I think a quality link is detected within a month
