    UKWW SEO Contest for the first prize of $1000 is officially on.

    Targeted term has been announced and participation is limited to 300 first entrants.

    Good start for the two above, one subdomain and one domain name. The contest is long enough (2 months) to get the maindomain enough power to rank good for the keyword ;)

    i tried to get a top level keyword domain, but when i got up in the morning .com, .net, .org, .info all were registered.
    Lesson No1 at my next competition - "Be awake at the time when the competition announce the keyword"

    so just put up a blogger. im in the first page of google (google is only showing up 10 entries for some reason though there are many sites which is indexed for SEOContest2008)

    Hmm. I dont think 2 months will allow a standalone domain to get much authority, so i believe subdomains or subfolders are a better way to go.

    Could be wrong though :eek::)

    Nice to see your in the contest Trapped. Should be good fun.

    My seo has gotten a site ranked no 3 in google for a keyword that is searched 3 million times a month and he did it in 4 months. He would never enter a competition like this because it would take away from his work time but i do wish the competitors good luck:).

    I have a site in position 2 in Google for a keyword with over 110 million results..... ;)
    While the number of results isnt always totally accurate to gauge monthly searches it is useful as a 'barometer' for how tough a term is.

    This contest takes will take away from all the competitors (including mine) own 'real' site(s) or customer site(s) development time....
    but it is a bit of fun and therefore I see it as a 'break' from work :D

    SEODADDY, i said the keyword is searched 3 million times a month and is a world class keyword. Not 3 million results, but actually 3 million searches a month!!! This is world class seo at its best. His clients site is right up there with the biggest companies online in that sector including yahoo and msn which are also in this particular field.
    I was personally shocked when i saw this.
    And let me correct myself, the site is no 3 in google not no 2, although it flucuates between the 3rd and fourth position daily

    I think it may be a little too short for standalone domains aswell but taken the gamble with seocontest2008.co.uk. Wish the contest was a few months longer!!
