Who Else is Being Flooded With This Spam?

    I have received tons of these in the last week. Each signed with a different name. What the heck is this all about?

    Hello,

    My name is Jason Miller and I am contacting you to discuss the option of purchasing a text link or banner on your website (nationalcollegesearch.com ).

    Could you please tell me what is the price of one text link:

    1) on your homepage only
    2) all your pages
    3) banner ad 120x60, 125x125 on homepage
    4) banner ad 120x60, 125x125 on all pages

    I get spam emails every now and again through DP, but I just ignore them, if this is our problems, imagine the problems Shawn has :p

    I get a couple every some often. I think the last one I got was for some Molly thing, 0 posts and was banned before I open DP (I get sent e-mails). Very annoying when it happens.

    I haven't received any but since I always delete unwanted messages right after receiving them they really don't bother me. These spammers are normally banned within a few days.

    And I wonder what is their purpose.

    If you answer by giving them a price, I suppose them answer by proposing you to use their ad services to get more money.
