Yeah right! My tooth aches and I don't know why I am still facing this computer typing some words just for you to know that my tooth really aches... Well, I had my dentist check up 10 mins ago and maybe I'll be fine in a few minutes. Whew!
Pain killers? Being on the PC or going to sleep (if you can) always helps something like that as it takes your mind off of it < my experiance
omg your tooth aches after visiting dentist..try migraines from wisdom teeth for a year and half -misdiagnosed by 3 doctors..to end up in hospital 3 weeks into the holidays close to death(whole right side of jaw swelled up(like had i not made it in time,i would have died in 2hours ) Had all 4 wisdom teeth removed plus 1. I had a totally rotten wisdom tooth with abscess. I had a drain in and was in a coma for 2 days. The cut in my neck is still healing up and the residual nerve pain sucks. I can't open my jaw very wide, but i'm eating what i can. lol. well anyway your pain will pass..pain doesn't last forever..
Here in the UK, it's pretty much impossible to get a dentist, the last two back teeth that I had trouble with, I simply used a pair of pliers, sterilised them of course, then using my shaving mirror and a damn good torch, nabbed the tooth in question, squeezed hard with the pliers and twisted and turned this way and that for about 20 minutes until finally I got the beggar out. Of course, the other solution is to tie some very strong fishing line around the tooth in question, tie the other end to the door handle, count to 3 and slam the door as hard as you can, much quicker if it works. Self dentistry, believe it or not, is actually gaining in popularity, it was on the news only recently about this. Please don't try it though for yourselves, it can be rather painful and in my case, certainly made me just a little grouchy for a day or two afterwards.
When I saw the thread title I was going to post as well because I have the worst headache ever from wisdom teeth (I think its caused by that because I can feel them aching slightly in my jaw) My face hasn't swollen but I've been sick for over a month now.. What did your dentist do that caused your teeth to ache?
Watch out.. you could die if something goes wrong.. you should never do things like that yourself.. :S
All got to kick the bucket sooner or later, quite philosophical about it, anyway, whilst the rest of the British population has suffered two winters of flu bugs and other unmentionable viruses being passed around, so far, I've not had any of them, getting sick, for me anyway, is just all in the head, you think well, you stay well, you think your going to die, or get a cold come to that, chances are it will increase such likelihood. It's ok, I might be toothless one day, but I'm still a handsome devil that's going to live well into his nineties.
tried any pain killers? i used to paste toothpaste on the aching tooth to cool it down. it worked quited well for me.
Bonjela is good too if you can't get your hands on Oil of Cloves from your Natural Health Store. Bonjela: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=bonjela&btnG=Search&meta=cr=countryUK|countryGB Oil of Cloves: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=oil+cloves&btnG=Search&meta=cr=countryUK|countryGB
How are you doing now ??? I think you eat cold and hot food at the same time... my teetk ache when I do it...
perhaps you better go to the dentist to have them checked out. The pain i've gone through for the last year and half..and expecially this last month i wouldn't want on my worst enemies. In hindsight i can see how the poison from the abscess was affecting my mind. You think you feel normal ..but it isn't. Even though the top ENT surgeon said my jaw will go back to normal,i'm just hoping the shape will go back to the way it was. near the jaw its just skin and bone(there is no "give" in the skin, like its stuck) LOL
I am totally feeling you right now, I just found out that I have a huge cavity on my upper right tooth. It hurts like a bugger! I went to the Doctor because I thought I had an ear infection and found out that it was the hole in my tooth that was making my ear feel like it was aching. I still haven't got it filled yet because I can't get into the Dentist until Feb 13th, it hurts like a BITCH! Have you tried Orajel Extra Strength? I know it doesn't last very long but it is helping for me. I got the Night Time Formula because it works for longer. Also I bought a hot heating pad and put it over my cheek where the pain was and that helped me sleep better. It always seems to feel a little better when I wake up. So basically I'm playing the waiting game until I can get to the Dentist. ALSO, if you have an infection or think you have an infection, I have been using Peroxide and Water and rinsing my mouth with it. It tastes horrid, but it clears it up for a bit. (P.S. Don't swallow it! ) Good luck!
I usually don't like going to the dentist, but I know it has to be done. The last time I went over there they made me hold my mouth open as wide as it could possibly stretch for an hour without swallowing once! I damn near choked!
