I have been paid by egold and had problems . I do not use it that much anymore but any money i wanted i sold the gold and was paid.
There must be something at your end, coz E-Gold is such a large company, $5,500 is nothing for them. Try getting in touch with the E-Gold employees and request a clarification. If nothing goes right, you might consult a lawyer but be very clear that it was not your fault before doing that.
Whats the wait for when you have got your funds back. Withdraw ASAP and click the Spam button on E-Gold site
It's just plain - scamming - if they have such clause as to take your money without prior notice. Did you report them to any concern authorities / body? File a complaint - get the media to highlight your plight. then they might notice you.
In my opinion EGOLD totally sucks in every way. Not to mention I have been scammed twice from two members in this forum when I tried to trade with paypal. egold policies is a joke.
some years ago i have used gptreasure,great site,always paid me on time! well,my egold account was hacked a lot of time.. i dont use this crap anymore i hope they give your money back,good luck man
Try to find their address if you know that they are from the same country as you. Try to find any information about them, spoke to someone, and seek who can help you.

Maybe you don't but a lot of other people do, especially those who still use the service, they need to be aware of it. And if bothers you that we discuss about this topic in here then you don't have to reply or express your opinion, coz' you can simply "get a life" instead.
Egold sucks and they're a joke. I'm incredibly sorry to hear this happened to you, if the same thing happened to me I'd be extremely distressed, upset, and very angry. I use PayPal, but even by doing that, it's still a huge risk. PayPal does need their policies to make sure their users abide by the law, but they have too much control.
