Here is that grand old question, "Do you believe that life exists else where in the universe besides earth?". When I mean life, it doesn't have to be intelligent, just life in general. An example would be like bateria or algae. Here are a few facts to help make your decision. It should be stated that I believe intelligent life would be very very rare, but lower life forms probably thrive accross the universe.

Fact 1. Our galaxy (The Milky Way) is believe it have "atleast" 1,000,000 earth like planets in it. This means that those planets are within the habitial zone and orbit a sun like our own. Not to mention that there are BILLIONS of galaxies just like our own. Thats an uncountable amount of earth like planets.

    Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Habitable_zone

Fact 2. Did you know that some of the most hospitable place on earth contain life? There is no corner of the earth that doesn't contain life, no matter how hot or cold it is. Including in the coldest and hotest enviorments.

    Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snow_algae
    Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrothermal_vent

Fact 3. The processes that created our Sun and solar system—and ultimately allowed life to develop and flourish on Earth—are the same processes that have created every other star and planet in the Galaxy and continue to do so today.

Here is a few more resources on areas in our solar system that might contain life.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life_on_Mars

    What do you believe?

It's absurd not to think there is life outside of earth.

Yes, but you do realize that almost every religion in play believe that God only created us, and that the universe\earth is only around 30,000 to 100,000 years old, depending on which religion? Not to mention the fact that many versions of the bible say the sun rotates around the earth ;)

I do believe that there is other life in the Universe besides Earth. This has been believed sinced the ancient times and even centuries, and thousands of years ago the people used flying craft and alien looking beings in their artwork.

For example check out Ancient alien evidence on earth

There are also UFO looking "things" in a lot of our old religious paintings.

I'm not exactly sure why you put life between quotes in the title, but regardless of that, I do certainly believe in life on other planets.

There is a lot of evidence right there in the Bible to support the idea of aliens and life outside the earth.

I saw a great documentary about that on the History Channel, was very interesting.

Because thats how I roll :D

I don't want to get into a religious arguement in this thread, but the bible doesn't, you can quote me where I'm wrong if you would like, but if the bible disproves evolutions than technically it disproves life on other planets.

The existence of bacterial life on other planets (or at least former bacterial life on other planets) has already been proven, so it's not really open for debate anymore. I remember when that was new news back when I was doing research and editing work for a professor of Earth and space sciences while I was still in school. Do a search with NASA, and I'm sure you'll find some of the older published materials from 2001-02 on the evidence of former bacterial life on Mars that was discovered in a martian meteorite. "Intelligent" life is what's still debatable.

No need to get into any arguments, but if you dont think there is any evidence for aliens and UFOs in the Bible you probably havent read it very much. I am not here to convince you or to argue the point so I wont be quoting any scriptures, but just in general there was the pllar of smoke and fire that flew in the sky to lead the Israelites, there was Ezekials wheel, different prophets were taken into the sky in a flying chariot - sounds like UFOs to me ;)

Think about the advances in modern science. Back when religious texts were first introduced, people were uneducated and religion was a way for them to have hope and a way to provide an explanation of life. After all, science and religion were considered one in the same.

Where did matter come from. If there was a big bang, then where did the components to create the bang come from? This concept scares the hell out of me.
If space is infinite, then it contains every possibility.
A planet with living intelligent creatures is a possibility that must be included when you are speaking in terms of infinite possibilities.

You talking about ALH8401 meterorite that was found, and it was never proven but an amazing find. Technically not yet has life been proven living or lived on another planet besides earth.

Very true, what gets me is that the universe goes on forever! Its hard to image how big it really is, the best way is this, take the milky way that is 100,000 "light" years accross and it would resemble a atom of a grain of sand on a beach and the beach is the universe.

Im religious but I am not so closed minded to think that we aren't alone. The bible as well as other historical documents make specific note of outside visitors.
Scientifically speaking life on other planets has already been proven by microbial fossils on Mars.
As for intelligent life outside of our planet? Come on, to say that the species that produced Britney, W, and guests of the Springer show is the most intelligent in the universe makes me sad to be an optimistic believer. I think as a whole human society shouldn't be bothered with extra-terrestrial intelligence until we learn to control ourselves. If someones pets behaved as our societies do everyone would want them put to sleep.

That's what they say, but there's no evidence of that. But before you get me wrong, I'm not saying whether it is infinite or not. But my mind is not capable of imagining that.

Let's say there was a big bang and the whole thing that we call universe now was a "tiny" ball at the beginning. Where was this ball before it decided to explode one day? What was around it?

If the universe is expanding, what is where it didn't reach yet? The universe needs "space" in order to expand.

I'm not religious at all, but if God didn't create us, who did? If you think about it, all kind of life has a design, which requires a designer, or some kind of intelligence. So, was it a chain of coincidences that lead to our existance, or was it an intelligent (higher?) being?
