Which website would you start?

I want to start a new blog.
It'll either be about jewelry, or video gaming. I know, polar opposites, but I have a small leg up in either of those 2 categories.
I dont know if either of those areas are a better site to start than the other.

With jewelry I don't know if people would actually buy jewelry online. And with gaming I dont know if gamers are mostly 10 year old boys who wont buy online.

When I search for Jewelry on Google I get: 928,000,000 results
When I search for gaming on Google I get : 509,000,000 results
I dont know if that says anything.

    Thoughts? Suggestions?

why would someone buy a $10.000 ring from your website, i wouldnt even if i have the money, i would never trust.

go for the gaming business, the biz has grown up so much after the PS3, WII games came out... so... I think its a great biz chance.

Thanks for the info on gaming.

I wouldnt sell jewelry myself, I would be an affiliate to larger reputable jewelry stores like Tiffany's and Macy's, etc.
And I wouldnt expect to sell a $10,000 ring, but if I could sell a lot of $50 rings that might be worth something.
Of course I dont know of the commissions paid out by these stores are crappy.

    Good advice.

Trust is a big deal in the online world. Big money purchases are not going to be from some no-name blog, or website.

    2 cents.

Do a bit of both, and see which one does better.

    Hi,

If you can get a jewelry site going, you might be able to build a small business. But you have to have some sort of plan and experience on selling jewelry.

From what I have researched, I doubt you can build a business from games.

gaming people are not just 10 year old boys - just to let you know. In fact... average play age is somewhere around 20-30 (talking about hardcore games) and bit higher + mainly female (for casual games).

    And they buy stuff online.

Competition IS there, but on the other hand: so it's pretty much everywhere else.
