Who do you think will be the next GREAT search engine?

I know Google is #1 at the moment but I'm sure there's another search engine out there that will come out of nowhere and take over. Kind of like how MySpace took over Friendster. It may be 5 or 10 years from now but I'm pretty sure it's going to happen. Does anyone have any ideas as to who this could be?

It'll take something pretty spectacular to topple Google - worldwide domination is difficult to beat

I like the technology and direction that Lexxe.com is taking with the "Advanced Natural Language Technology"

Is it just me, or does the wikia search need to do something drastic to even see out the end of 2008? Its results' accuracy is on the complete other scale compared to a senile cat. However, I like the logo :D

I would expect, if anything, MSN will become Google's biggest rival. Not in the near future, but in light years away. Metaphorical light years, of course.

It's going to be pretty hard to even compete with Google, but EVENTUALLY, something different will always come along. I look forward to seeing what that is, though.

I think maybe a mixture of the big ones like these compare travel sites

Be difficult because of the way google ranks pr etc...

Something like stumble that tracks all your search data to get a profile of your web profile to help pinpiont your search better

Eurekster / Swicki , they offer a pretty nice Tag Cloud and personal search engine for members at the moment, but it is getting results from Google, MSN, Yahoo and your own sites.

If MSN gets their head out of their a$$...Google wouldn't have nearly as much market share.

    Just my opinion though ;)
