Old account poor, opened a new one - great !

I've been struggling to spend money with adwords for the past month or so.

I was finding my ads were not showing by 11am each day,
I started off using the defaults, then ended up setting silly amounts (£25 max per click, £1000 per day budget)
I still couldn't get more than 4 clicks before the ads stopped showing.

Thing is, the 4 clicks were cheap, so it isn't a budget , or bidding issue ... so why doesn't google want my money ?

Anyway - gave up yesterday and found a £30 voucher that needed a new account, so opened a new account.

Same ad, same destination url, same keywords.
But WOW, great instant results - 50 clicks and impressions lasting all day.. and sales.

So my advice is just to open a new account as you may get better results with a fresh band new account (google don't limit you)

I had done nothing "bad" with the old account, other than maybe left it dormant (no campaigns running) for about six months...

Yes, it is possible your account was flagged for some reason. Strangely enough Google encourages you to open new accounts!

adwords charge you based on on your account history as well as QS and CTR. so if your old account was there wothout any good history or with a history of poor performance, then opening up a new account will help you get a fresh start

If you just keep opening new accounts, you won't solve your real problem which is poor quality score.

This is a short term solution to a long term problem.

Exactly - I would wager your new account will slowly, if not abrubtly deteriorate to the same as your old account. Not trying to be negative - just generally how Adwords works.
