I understand value of misspelled company names.
But is there value in misspelling common words?

If so I can have fun in my spare time trying to find some words people misspell.

Yes there is value. If you park a misspelled word sometimes you will get tons of clicks and such.

Value of Mispelled Company names = Potential TM issues.
Value of common words, it all depends on traffic & revenue. Otherwise, if none, it's worthless.

It has lots of value provided you have good collection of misspelled domains.

In 2005 Marchex paid $ 164 Million to Name Development Ltd for a portfolio of over 100000 misspelled domain name.

That has traffic & revenue only. It's very easy to go out there & just register mispelled domains that don't have that.
