<rant> I enjoy helping out on forums, feels good to know your helping out people. I am getting very tired of the post count\signature link spammers, you know who you are. It seems some people feel the need to post the same answer that someone already gave again and again in a thread. Not only is this just a horrible practice, but it makes me read through tons of garbage just to see if the actually thread poster asked something about the answer. I think I might just have to start handing out -REP to the people who constantly abuse it, do you think this is worth the time? Doesn't really matter I guess if I lose my little green boxes </rant>

Im not to sure why people are posting so much. Since the value of sig links have gone really down hill.
I also love it when someone is selling an ebook and first 20 replies are from people asking for a review copy even though it says no review copies in the first post. The reason why people keep on posting "Pm me with more info" is because the OP is either referral spamming via PM or for some odd reason does not want to post any details in public. I understand that sometimes you don't want to reveal your url to "not so serious" buyers but in that case they should be PMing you, not asking for more info in the thread. Shall we start an action group (Little DP dogwatch) and red rep people who reply for the sake of replying without even reading the first post?

It is useless...i used up my rep power every single day..but there are too many ppl giving green randomly in hope other will do the same to him..and when someone turn red, he just start a thread in GC and green come pour in... i hope there are stricter rules here in DP..
While I despise those spammers I really do not think we should take the laws into our own hands. Ganging up to red a spammer does not seemed to me appropriate given that mods are around to maintain the forums. It would be better to work within the context of DP rules and to alert the mods of such spammers. Their "reds" are much more effective than ours anyway.
Yeah I agree.. In freebies I saw a person copy paste spamming "stumbles these link please ....etc" on many threads, even though they are not a Stumble Exchange thread. Wanted to leave a -rep but stopped when it says it will "cost" me 1 point haha.
Well you have to come to expect this. I mean there are so many people on DP now it is growing daily.. There is only so much that can be talked about and with the age of the members here reaching all time lows as well.. Just adds to all these postwhores.. But what I'm really tired of is getting PMs to a thread that ended months ago asking if I'm still doing it or asking me to PM them. I think ANY thread in the site sales section that says "PM me for details" in order to get more info about the site should be IMMEDIATELY closed. As they only want there crappy site to have more views and there thread to be bumped so they can make another post saying "Traffic increased 100% since last week get in your bid" All well since I dont have 2 bars myself yet I cant afford to red rep.. Though I've done it a few times doesnt seem to help as they have 50+ points so taking away 1 doesnt faze them
Yep, the -1 is what it costs, since you have 1,000+ posts you actually would take -2 points from them
if you feel thats what they are doing, just report the post and give red rep....i do I just realised this very post is pretty much what you're ranting about, but seen as I state my agreement i reckon im safe
