Suggesting ads to customers in local machine is not cheating, that's my opinion. Google pay the publisher because the customers are really interested with your ads, even buy your products, you can make profits. This is what I mean - "not cheating", I will not let some idiots click the ads just for fun or other stupid aims.
I can see it both ways. If you like force the website to come up on the local machine and they are tricked into clicking your ads then I can see that as cheating. If you are really interested in the ad you have a quality site that is just hosted locally I don't see why that would be cheating. Although it wouldn't really matter because you would only get 1 click and the rest wouldn't count. Not only that but the more clicks you got the more likely you would get banned.
They will ban you, and you will lose all your money in your adsense account. It´s likely that they probably wont accept you at all if you want to create a new account. Dont do it, it dosent worth the risk and you´ll lose any change of having an adsense account on your name.
By signing up for Adsense you agreed not to click your own ads. They will definitely not pay you if you do..
It's easy to see who has and has not read the whole thread before replying. Very interesting idea you bring up. It would definitely be something worth looking into.
a desktop file has a referral IP OTHER than a www IP and typically is inside a LAN / WLAN hence it most likely may be safe common standard to count desktop referral IP as invalid clicks ... normally those asking such questions love to LEARN how to cheat cheating Google is cheating yourself one lifetime as successful and HONEST professional web publisher will broing you far in excess of ONE Million us$ being banned thus costs you far in excess of ONE Million US$ loss in potential revenues in a full lifetime !!! hence who ever thinks even in his darkest dreams about methods to cheat or attempt to cheat is a REAL fool to say the very least. besides that clickfraud is NO cheating it's a straight crime - it's STEALING from advertisers !!!
yes a computer on a lan would have an internal address, but there still be only one gateway to the internet
Google sees the machine NOT the gateway and since the machine is an internal LAN IP a normal and save procedure by Google could be to strictly consider such clicks as invalid
lol you are arguing over nothing, yes the clicks will be considered invalid, i never said otherwise but you should take a course in networking, i did and my current job involves networks heavily and google will only see the gateway to the lan ip address, internal addresses dont get transmitted seriously a bit of networks 101 is in order for you
your statement may be absolutely correct in some cases - depending on various details! if OR not machine/LAN IP is visible to remote viewers depends on a variety of settings and scripts/tools involved including on router/router(LAN) configuraiton/browser type and other factors how else could I see in LICQ the FULL IP ( does NOT work on ICQ ) such as 24.144.75.123 / 192.168.1.103 with the second part being the machine IP - NOT the GW since adsense is js connected directly to my PC - I have no knowledge about what Google can retrieve from my own computer using the G developed js for the ads displayed on pages inside my browser. how much info can be retrieved from my own PC may also depend on scripting languages / OS active in my own browser. by default most browsers may have js and java activated ( ffx in linux ) other OS such as MS may use other scripting ( activex or others ) .... LICQ most likely is coded in C ( or C++ ) to do that job
