I feel it does make a difference. When have you ever seen a result with 1st rank from a .info site when you make a search in google. Even when you search dot info in google the first result is from .com site. ...
^^ Yea I agree with Puneet... Though their SEO might not be the same, but even I have never seen any .info domain at First place.
I was looking at a chart of TLDs and there seems to be at least 20 times more registered .COM than .INFOs. and .COMs have been around much longer, so that may be factor as far as what consumers are "brain washed" to accept. But I do remember reading a rumor a while back that google was kinda "slapping" the .INFO because they accociated them with people spamming, proxies, and other disposible functionalies. Its like .INFO is the sterio type for crappy domain content now. I've yet to see a solid case study on .COM vs .INFO. So until then, I just bought a load of them so I'll get to see for myself!
