I currently have my website hosted on my schools server through html files. I have my domain redirected to the HTML. I wanted to know since my domain redirects people to the html will G ever give my domain a PR?
Your question is not clear. "I currently have my website posted on my schools server" --> Does it mean your site is hosted on school server or there is a link to your site from school site? "connected through my domain, and a few sub-domains" --> What does that mean? "I wanted to know since my domain redirects people to my pages posted on the school server, will G ever give my domain a PR?" --> You will not get a PR for redirecting people to somewhere. You will get PR only if someone with points to you. That too from a page that is indexed and ranked by google. Please make your question clear if you want a better reply.
Redirects don't give you PR, backlinks give you PR, this question is answered many times, please search the forum for obvious things like these. PR is useless anyways, work on your SERPs.
I changed it. Ok. So as long as I keep posting my domain in directories and other places, it won't matter that it redirects people the html file?
Redirects will only give the page a "fake pr". Link to your original page. Otherwise, you will have to add a "A" point ip address or "CNAME" domain to your dns server.
OK. I was just worried about my school hosting, interfering with the SERPs......thanks for all the info...rep given
