Am I Utilizing Google Adsense to Its Full Potential on my Blog

    Hello,

This is my first blog and I tried using some tricks people have been using in DP forums. This is actually the first day I enrolled and wanted to start working right away.

    http://www.hustlersblog.com

This is what I came up with and would love feedback on how I placed my Adsense ads on the page.

    - Do they clutter the reader too much?
    - Did I overdo it?
    - Do side menu bars in the middle of the page with ads convert well?
    - Do I mesh the ads well at the end of each blog entry?

I was reading stuff on Steve Pavlina and basically I used his system of placing ads - the box, the 2 - 3 link horizontal text ads as well.

I will start incorporating Affiliate products as well as Azoogle as soon as I start developing a system to writing 3-5 articles a day - minimum. Once that is set, I'm going to have to learn from your geniuses about getting those astronomical 10,000 hits a day.

Please, by all means - be critical. I really want to be as smart and successful as many people on here, and I will take all constructive criticism and apply accordingly.

    Thanks!

I dont see any ads at the bottom of your posts and was something I was going to suggest.

You might want to replace that search box with a Google Custom search engine, works well for some of my sites.

Cormac, thank you so much. I will implement the google search bar right now and throw that 'end advertisment' at the bottom of the index.

Thank you for such a quick response.

    Hi there,

Just read your Thug Workout page.

Got inspired. Dropped and did 50 push-ups.

    Plus 60 sit-ups.

    Thanks!

Glad to be hanging on DigitalPoint with you.

As for the blog layout, I like the two at the end of the post.

The five vertical seems a little too much to me.

Plus I heard that the highest payments / bids are earned on the first two clicks anyway.

Maybe cut it down by two or three?

Best way to be sure is to set up an A/B split test, do that on some pages, measure CTR on at least 100 impressions for each way, see what happens. Because I think it's somewhat different for every site.

I'm just learning about AdSense myself, even though I have been coding HTML and making web sites since 1995, always paid by someone else, now I have started BlogAndGrow.com, blogging to make some coin as well.

    happy regards,

    Bradley,

Awesome, I will try to strip down some of the ads on my site. The box does make it look a little cluttered. I never want to turn off a reader.

    Hustler,
The first thing that distracted me was the small little white piece on the header where I presume the shirt is (just above the text "why hustler's blog" on tab. Distracting. This is coming from a wedding photographer so take it for whatever you feel its worth. On the right hand side by the Search box, the .com is missing the M.

    Just my observations. Good luck...

I see the sidebar, and I will make it fit.

As far the header, I think I am not checking this blog out in different browsers. I will try IE, currently I am using Firefox.

    Thanks for the heads up.
