Are you mods/admins toying with the idea of letting us delete our posts, because when I try to edit my posts I get an option to delete the post or not, but not to edit it. Also, will I get an infraction if I make a follow up post since I cannot edit right now?

I believe everyone has an eight hour window for editing or deleting a post other than the opening post in thread.

That's the thing. I get the edit button. But when I click on it I don't get an edit box. I only get the choice to delete or not. If I choose no then it goes back to the thread. I cannot edit.

    Nevermind. It's working now.

Before I was going to a different page where there was a radio button list with two options
    Delete this posting
    Don't Delete this posting

and a reason for deleting text box (like the reason for editting text box).

    I couldn't edit. Obviously I can now.

Its Ajax edit, as soon as you click the edit button. It will appear up as a white box and you can hit save, Go advanced, delete and cancel.

    I don't know where you heard 12 - it's always been 8.
Members remain unable to delete the opening post (therefore thread) of a thread they have started.

I know what it is, and I've used it many times in the past. But that is not what was happening to me earlier. I had never seen this screen before (and now it is gone). There was no edit box.

    Screen Shot

Is that the old screen, maybe it was an AJAX hiccup that took me to the old way of doing it? Strange that it wouldn't let me edit though. Maybe it's related to why sometimes I do not get the quick reply at the bottom?

Anyway, other than answering the last couple questions, this one is done as I can edit again.

    Yes -

After you hit edit HIT "go advanced" and you will see that in the window of time,

    Its for everyone,

They even made a rule for that as some of the older members know.

Back in the day"PEOPLE" were "bumping" there threads ..and then using "edit & go advanced" and deleted it :)

Then WHAT they didn't realize is that the mods can see the deleted posts :)

So the answer is YES - everyone has that feature,

    Sorry your not special :)

Didn't think I was. Just hadn't seen it before. Never had to use the advanced edit before.

But I am special. This is one of the longest running S&F threads that is open but answered....
