I'm wondering to open a new site about sending sms for free. I have a question about it. Is only adsense the only source of money. The price of sms were
    1000 sms = 120 $. Any idea?

You could make money off different types of ads and also selling text links/banners

I think that on a sms site some of those ads to messenger smiley's will convert well.. It's worth you try this along with adsense.

Free sms sending scripts work by send an formatting email to an operator supplied email to sms gateway. This technique is flawed because:
    1. Not all operators support an email to sms gateway. Most in US/Canada, some in India but the rest of the world has limited operators who provide this
    2. Your script has to ask the sender which operator the SMS is destined for. This is very limited as how many people not for sure the operator of their friends. Furthermore, number portability means that number range look up wont work either
    3. Even if you have know the destination operator and it is listed, most times it wont work because the person on that operator usually has to pre-register to get SMS this way. Most people dont.

Why not try to use a commercial service? You can get SMS at very low cost these days with guaranteed delivery. Weve launched a beta self service portal that allows you to send SMS worldwide via an email 2 sms gateway or a SOAP XML API.

However, basing your business model on adsense only is going to be tricky. You;d have to have a huge number of eyeballs and click thru to make enough from adsense to pay for the SMS costs.

    Anyways, I hope this helps:
