Hey All, I need suggestions for a first course of action for a new domain i'm launching. In 2007, when I would launch a new site, I would always purchase some quality directory submissions, promote my site on the social bookmarking scene, and maybe rent a few high PR links and edu links, and try to do some link trading to get me going. Now, i've been doing a lot more design than SEO, and it seems like all the old ways are no longer any good. The new domain I'm launching is a 2 word domain, and the content of the site is about 80% relevant to that keyword. So I don't think it's going to be that difficult to rank slot #1 on google for the keyword given how much weight they seem to put on the domain name. Is there anything worth paying for anymore? you can't buy links anymore per G00G|3, social bookmarking seems to still be good to me. directory submissiosn are worthless now. What would you all suggest? I have a budget of about $2500 for my initial SEO blitz. Thanks for your insight! _!
First of all you should select your theme based keyword for your site and make a content to base your keywords after that you may collect one way links through the process of free directory submission, article submission, blog posting and social bookmarking process. Actually you don't have to pay.I think you still lack of infos. Read more articles about SEO. You miss a lot of techniques like submitting articles, press release and classifieds. They are just like social bookmarkings.

No need to spend money. If you have 1-2 months time then u can easily promote your website. First of all, watch your competitors, track its links, internal link structures, keyword density. Directory submission is very beneficial. Use yahoo paid listing option to list your website. Submit your website in dmoz.org. These two webdirectories will improve your SERP. Social bookmarking sites are also helpful to improve page rank and searchability.
