So I'm taking part on a new project which uses AJAX and tries to fit into the whole "web 2.0" category. As I've recently found out, this could become problematic with advertising opportunities. When you are selling per page view, or trying to make a sales pitch "We have X pageviews a month"... implementing AJAX skews all of that tremendously. Can anyone provide some feedback on how they have tackled selling adspace on AJAX-powered websites?
Its a tough situation, however you just have to explain to the clients what they are getting and show them your alexa or quantcast rankings I guess. Wish I could help you more.
Every time a new page is AJAXed in, make an iframe refresh, therefore +1 pageview. Anyway thats not needed. When the javascript calls the server side page to retreive the new data it will act as a page view (in awstats anyway)
