I used to download warez - movies, CDs et cetera. I stopped two months ago.

Only after people have seen one of their own products shamelessly ripped without rights and shared illegally on the Internet for free will they realise how bad warez is. Personally, I'm not too worried about people ripping my work, because it doesn't take me long to create and I will always have buyers... for other people that have put hours and hours into creating an eBook, or some software only to see sales massively drop because some scum uploads it on a warez site... the feeling probably ain't that good.

If you think something is good enough to use, fork out for it. Otherwise find something else.

Warez is illegal, it doesnt matter if the software costs $10,000 coz in the end, your stealing other peoples work
3dMAX is expensive because people had to work their asses off to get it done, and when you download it illegaly you stealing their work.
so NO i think its not useful at all

no i do not support warez.

and keep in mind sharing and publishing warez are not the same and not all sharing is consider good as well.

you can share cd/dvd/software with your friends and those in your closed circle but if you go extreme and put it online for others to get as well, now thats not good sharing anymore and consider illegal and warez trading.

also to support the singers, artists you need to buy their products.
To support is to help them reach their goals and keep them have passion, that way its mutual happiness.
You get what you want (more songs from your fav artist) and they will keep producing for their fans (you).
artists are rich and why they need you to buy money? well $ is not for them but mainly for production costs for best quality.

I don't really support software piracy and don't tend to listen to music. However in the case of movies it is often the truth that the person who downloaded the movie wouldn't of watched it anyway 7 times out of 10 I'd say, something like epic movie or meet the spartans, Who would pay for this stuff?

Bingo, I watch movies off sites like joox. Movies I'd never rent/buy(I have never bought a movie safe one a long time ago, my favorite :)) or see in theaters. If I want to see something badly I'll watch it in theaters. For instance, I watched Cloverfield in theaters, I could have easily downloaded it only 2 days after with near perfect quality but I wanted to actually see the film and I paid the price went in and watched it.;)
Even if I couldn't find the film and it was an oldie, I have like 50+ free movie coupons anyway haha.

i think wareZ is not good.. i want to know that why piracy.. why don't you spend few bucks to get the cool stuffs. For ex. u need a cool 3d software like 3DMax.. then u must pay to get it.. or u may use Blender which is not cool at all as u t not paying for it. so try to undertand the value of money.

Stealing is stealing no matter physical or digital. Digital goods is duplicated at the loss of licensing fees for the creator.

    I do support warez.

I think it's a way to spread the sofware and information to a the people that, like in my country, just can't afford to buy software.

In my country, Peru, warez is everywhere. I've seen cops buying pirated films. It has been years since the last time I saw an original Windows copy. The goverment does nothing at all. I hope it lasts forever like this.

Enterprises don't go on broke for warez, do they?

Now, OpenSource? That would be an excellent solution (I use it as much as I can), if Windows haven't monopolized the market. People are just too lazy to learn to manage new software and even worse, a whole different OS.

Just think about Photoshop: All designers must have Photoshop (which is very expesive). I'll bet you'll say me to try GIMP. But courses or lessons of GIMP are nowhere. Photoshop has also Monopolized the maket.

Music? I've never seen anybody paying for a song, not even in iTunes.

    Now, books.

Some while ago, my school asked me to read The Da Vinci Code. So I went to a store and asked the price. It was 40$. Do you think I could afford that (back then)? It's terribly expensive. So I went to a local market and bought it for 5 bucks.

So, yes, warez is illegal, but I think there is no other solution for this kind of things, specially in a country as poor as mine.

What I do not support, is to download the pirated software and then sell it. I just support warez for personal purposes.

I agree with you. I do the same thing :)

Warez is not good for industry but can be useful for those who can't afford software for their PC.
I don't agree with warez...but all of us use warez for 1 ore more time.
    That's the true .

I can understand warez in one context. If you had to pay $300 for a bit of software some people would not buy it. So if they download a pirated version instead company is not losing any money because they can't afford it in the first place. However if you CAN afford the software but you decide to pirate it instead, then you are potentially stealing money from the company and that's when i think its wrong.

It's at no loss if the user could not afford what was being "stolen".

I'm a gimp lover and user. I've always wanted photoshop but I've never downloaded the warez version as I am trying to profit off what I do. I've been using the Gimp and there are hundred's of tutorials everywhere on the gimp.
Lol over 400 at gimp-tutorials.com, c'mon mate it has "gimp tutorials" in the domain. No excuse there, the program can match anything photoshop can other then HDR.
