Can I tack a question of my own onto this thread ? If I advertise properly, and make mine unique in some way ( I havent thought how yet) is there much money to be made in Adult Site directories ?
I've seen a few adult directories and they're not great at getting traffic - it's only getting you a backlink... It's a competitive market now so don't expect revenues to be easy - you're probably going to have to invest quite a bit to get decent traffic levels. Incorrect grasshopper. Using some TGP submitting programs, and link lists, top lists, etc. You can easily generate some traffic to not only your porn sites, but celebrity, or clipstores as well if you so choose. $29 a month well spent.

chameleonsubmitter.com I posted about this, and some other submitting software in my, "Building an Adult Membership Site. 1, 2, 3.." post. And in answering some other threads where I talk about their e-mail confirmer program, link list submissions, and so on. Using those, and getting listed on some nice sites ( a lot of small fries as well) you will get anywhere from 3-10k+ a day. Get listed on the Hun, or some of these other high traffic sites and it will crash your server if you do not have good hosting. 100's of thousands of hits in a single day. Which is why I repeatedly say, invest in your hosting. Do not be a cheapskate. It's the foundation you are building your business on.
Excellent advice - thanks for this. It's true about the hosting although my site is pretty hungry on CPU - it's already on a dedicated (cheapish..) server but I think I'm going to have to upgrade to support decent levels of traffic... Cheers, p.
More than welcome ace. You da man. That is why I tell people doing adult, or celebrity, it is very easy to get the traffic. The total submit time to do Chameleon for me is like 45 minutes. I build the gallery, submit it it in Chameleon. It does the rest. I then confirm the e-mails, and tada. If you know how to do your galleries right. You promote both your adult AND celebrity sites. Doubling your membership pleasure and cash. Not to mention traffic, and link back, and so on. You can take it even further on submit a pic sites, top lists, and such.. People who tell you it's hard to get traffic in adult are just lazy. Plain and simple.

You are ultimately trying to get a membership (conversion). Either to the program (affiliate) you are promoting, or your own website(s).
