At least Djokovic was open about the fact that he knew we all wanted Tsonga to win.

I think Tsonga has joined Baghdatis in becoming an honorary Australian :)

I was shouting in front of my TV and mentally pushing Tsonga all the way, yeah, I wanted him to win because he has the game and deserves it.

But I think he just kinda lost it in the end and was rushing throughout the tiebreak.

He will have his day... :)

Tsonga was great, but he was annoying me in the end with the shots that you could see weren't going to make it or when he tried to be tricky. But was a great match - even better considering I was being paid whilst I was watching it :)

Roddick always got issues with his temperament.. and Hewitt had some fitness problem... also these and many more good players r no competition of Federer.. what he has done is last 4 years is exceptional. n no on can beat that... there were also some forgotten names here - Safin, Medvedev etc.. they all looked promising but dint did anything remarkable...

Well I know Marat Safin who knocked out Roger two year ago in Australian Open in 5 set match where Roger is on match point and Safin comeback strongly. He also won that year title (2005)

I remember that, Federer finished the match on his knees. Safin, when he's on form, can truly be a great player, even matching Federer.

But his temper is getting in the way, I thought he would have a great run at this year's Australian Open, too bad he self-destructed in the end. :(

Marat Safin has passed his prime. The men's game is much more then just a big serve these days. You need the whole package, which Novak seems to have.

Yeah! I am sure no one predict this final. Most of us hoping for Federer Vs Nadal final but both knocked out from semis.

Both passed there prime. Roddick doesn't have the all court game, it's just his serve and I expect his ATP ranking to only go downhill from here. James Blake is America's best hope.

If I recall right, Roddick had 42 aces in his lose at the AO, that is 10 and a half games (over 1 set and a half) as if given to a player as a present, he still managed to loose the match.
