It's a popular conspiracy theory. We have agreements with Saudi Arabia, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, Germany, France, UK, and other countries around the world. That doesn't mean we are all going to be one big happy country around the world.

You don't increase border security and build border walls to join together with other countries to become one. It's preposterous. That's probably why during the video, it had "North American Union?" (note, that question mark) in the background.

    Won't ever happen.

I doubt it as well. Although we didn't hear the "big sucking sound", as Ross Perot put it, I think there have been quite a number of problems with NAFTA and it's side effects (worker rights, environment, highway safety, etc). This may be another agreement that will help line some pockets.

It almost seems like this report by CNN was doing this for shock value.

I think the federal government figured the border would be safe, with GTech in Texas, repelling would be occupiers and fern'er terists.

good comeback, act like anyone with an opposing view to yours is an "enemy of the state". that same loyalist attitude didn't get too far in 1776 but you can try again i suppose :)

wont happen, mexico and canada wouldn't exactly add to USA's problem, people could immigrate here in massive flows meaning nobodys gonna be in mexico lol and we would have to deal with each others problems. And honestly speaking here, I doubt any american would wanna see america open to Mexico.

Good evening, Gtech and the ones supporting his views.

    If I may, a question:

If you take my word on it. The video is real, it was on the air yesterday. The translation is correct and the guy is a former PM, would you believe we are all going to be one big happy country around the world?

    http://technologybb.com/showthread.php?t=351

    Possible scenario:
Obama wins, he's the best choice to "open the borders". 1 or 2 years later, say in 2010, a majority will be stimulated to believe that opening the borders is the best and safest (a state of mind called "terror" perhaps?) choice for the future of the country.
America bigger and stronger than ever... Could it sell? Think about it. You don't even need a majority. I think it is a possibility. This is hypothetical. I'm not saying it will happen and I hope it won't. But then...

The North American Union is just the beginning.

Adding Mexico to the US will turn America into a third world country. 50% of Mexcians would qualify for welfare.

Mexico doesn't have 1/10 the infrastructure of the US and the costs to bring it up to our standards would be astronomical.

What is wrong in creating a North American Union?

Europeans have a Union. Asia would like to have a Union, with single currency.

Why should it be a bad idea? Somehow, I have a feeling, as the world is moving closer, maybe it would be better to have a single currency.

What do you think? Why should it not be done?

I know, most of you believe "Too few people having too much power" scenario. Or is it something else?
