Or use a girl (not some extremely hot girl, but cute), everyone which try their best to answer whatever you asked

if i need to remember someone, avatar works better than user ID, and a special avatar can be a big attention grabber. and please, don't use a Dragonballz avatar to tell ppl you are 12 years old kid

 

I am not sure how useful they are for advertising, im testing that out now with my first ever advert avatar, I have always just had a pic of me or something funny before that.

 

Yeah cartoon avatars are out if you expect to be taken seriously...

Some members avatars are nice, and they encourage trust from me, while something like a kids cartoon won't convince me to purchase something from you.

I think people tend to ignore sig links. We see them so much that we develop a blindness towards them. But when you change your avatar, people really notice. I think it's a great way to advertise.
