Regarding backlinks from blog comments, forums, link exchange, etc. Hw long does it take to notice an increase in total backlink count when using Yahoo, Google, Linkpopularity?
depends.. usually every time they update backlinks.. and not really sure when is the exact update... and not all links are count...like google they don't show all backlinks..
We do not properly know about the search technique of the search engine like google or yahoo. How the search engine couts backlinks is also unknown to us. Better do some optimizations for the backlinks. I do not mean that your site is not optimized, but googe avioded 683 backlinks....really unpleasant.
Google usually update links between three to four months but display only random sample of your links. If you want to see more links create an account in google webmaster tools. While yahoo updates very often.
Depends on how ofen the site is visited by se bots/crawles And anyway google show very few of the backlinks and updates links like once in 3-4 months Regards
i was just wondering the best backlinks to have in terms of getting noticed by google. i mean i have 177 backlinks indexed by google and i just did a link exchange on a site that has 37,000 pages ....its a directory. and my link is on every page but back link checkers don't seem to pick that upand im wondering if google even recognizes that sort of stuff. amxcorey
Google only shows ~10% of backlinks using link: - use WMT and Yahoo Site Explorer for a better and more realistic number of backlinks.
Aka a 'sitewide' link. 1 sitewide link most likely has the same value to search engines as one single link does. Looks like that'll be your money gone down the pan
again...using WMT, 39 links are shown. Using Yahoo Explorer, 721 shown. With that, Google is recognizing only 39 links, why are so many NOT recognized? 99.9% of my backlinks are text.
well money down the pan isn't the right idea it was an exchange and the site is popular so i think it was a fair trade
You could always try and sumbit to Google the sites you have backlinked from. Get them to link to you and sumbit THIER site. Get Google over the quicker if you can. JigSawMan
I've read that Google does count all or most of your back links but only reports a fraction of them because they don't want webmasters playing the numbers game. Like not reporting stops it!
