I have been working on trying to research products on the clickbank marketplace and picking one to promote. I have nooo idea what one to pick and start promoting.. I mean... I see products like.. "The art of approaching women" and/or "Wedding Speaches" come on.. do people actually buy that crap? I'm nervous to pick a product and put time and money into promoting it but not getting any sales.. Anyone have some advice? Thanks
libertygone - you're in the clickbank section btsx was confused.. The best way to start off is look at gravity - that's basically how many sales the product/service generates per day. After you find something with high gravity, the next thing to do is check out the page and make sure you understand it and that it actually appeals to YOU. After all, the hardest thing to sell is something you can't sell yourself on (or trick yourself into being sold on... it's a frame of mind) Next, you want to make sure there are a high % of affiliate sales. This means that the publisher isn't making all the sales themselves, and you have a better shot of joining the big team of successful affiliates. From that point forward, its a long adventure of trial and error but if you're smart, dedicated, and and have patience, you'll see success in no time!
stay away from products with lots of competition.. you usually need a bigger budget or lots of time to work on SEO gravity of under 20ish is good to start - I have a few products in my sig if you want to look at them (bout time i gave myself a plug!)
It's ironic. Yes people need help with wedding speeches. I sold a few of those in the past. Anything is fair game. I find that the products that convert best for me are ones I usually end up downloading and reading so I can better market them. What I do is find a product I'm interested in. Then I pick one that has the best landing page ... or one that actually got my attention. If I sell a few copies in under 200-300 hits then I will actually purchase the product and from the information I can gleen form the download make my conversions that much better.
There is much good advise here already. If you promote products via a website or a blog, I would just add that you promote a product or products that relate to or is in an area you care about. My most successful clickbank affiliation comes from subjects that I passionately care about.
We're in 2008 - people will buy just about anything... As was recommended before try to look for 1) High Gravity 2) a good payout (25$ or more) 3) low refunds 4) Less competition ... and you are set ! Alex
Visit http://www.cb-analytics.com and research how products sold in the past this may help you find a good product to promote.
I agree it's quite difficult to find products in the marketplace. If you type in a popular product name it won't find them and such..
Well, most of the time I don't look at the products with gravity under 50. Although a product with gravity 400 does not necessarily mean "the best" because there are probably thousands of competitors already promoting it. No matter which path you chose, you will have to spend some time doing research. Alex
Any niche is fine. Don't be surprised by a niche such as "wedding speeches". There are people searching for it and there's a demand. That's why there is such a product in clickbank. What you need to do is to do some keyword research and decide on what platform you are going to promote the product, i.e. website, blogs, ppc, bum marketing etc. A lot of "gurus" says work on your passion or hobby. I think that's not 100% realistic and true. Some of your hobbies might not be profitable at all. I suggest that you go target a niche that might interest you instead even though you may be a complete newbie. But make sure you have at least some interest, or you can't sustain. For example, I am into my health niche BUT I am not an expert or nor it is my passion initially. However, I do have an interest on my topic. That is important.
really you could try anything, try picking things you're interested in or things you would buy and do bum or free marketing if u don't want to spend money. My sig didn't cost me a penny but they make me a few pennies. lol
A bit confused about choosing a product too. Before I was only promoting very popular products, such as make money, lose fat, and I had very poor results, because they are too competitive. Then I realised that there customers for ANY product as ipood said. So I chose low competitive product, and actually I've made some money with it. The problem is that some products are seasonal, and you can't make money with them all year through. The product that I was making money with, suddenly stopped to bring sales So, I am thinking should I AGAIN try some popular products, and maybe I will have success with them this time, because I know there are people making big money with these kind of products, which make me angry. Here is a way I recommend to find a product 1. First choose High-competitive or Low-competitive. Don't just watch for the gravity for the product, because the gravity can be low, but if the product is in, for example, money-making area then your competitors will eat you. So more important is the niche, not the gravity. 2. Then choose few products selling the same kind of ebooks 3. Visit all the pitch pages, and choose the one that you think will sell. P.S. I use only PPC for product promotion.
I do not think seasonal applies to all categories or ebooks, I promote an ebook that has sold consistently every week for the last two years. On the other hand, some products on my sites sale once every 3 months. Note: Some Clickbank products do have a short shelf life. Since I use adsense and/or other affiliate programs on the same sites as I use clickbank products, I am not obsessed by a particlar result. If one advertising imethod does not produce revenue today, one of the others will. (Most of the time - )
