LLLL.com value rising?

    I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but I think that there may be something going on in the LLLL.com corner of the domain market. Historically, the starting bid for LLLL.com's at SnapNames has been around $20.00, but all of the sudden, all of the names selling January 31st are listed at a $500.00 start price. Anyone know what the deal is?

    Yes they have been rising in value for some time now and will continue to do so, there's no reason why they won't.

    The value has risen fairly quickly these past few months and will eventually level out a bit. Then it will steadily rise as time goes on as long as the DN market does well and continues to grow.

    I have no idea why they're all listed @ $500 as there's no way that the crappiest letter combo of LLLL.com domains are worth that price. Do you have an example of those $500 names? Are they pronouncable or have good letter combos? The worst LLLL.com domains are worth Low $xx & up from there for the better ones.

    It seems to be a case of people jumping on the bandwagon, a bit like the snowball effect. Many LLLL.com's are worth a lot and should be but people are bouncing on ANYTHING because its hot at the moment. They probably wont be sorry later but i think that prices are inflated at the moment because everyone has jumped on the bandwagon, making demand outweigh supply.

    Nope, not pronounceable or even necessarily triple premium! Even names with Q's are listed at $500! For example, look up AQGA.com on snapnames.. $500!

    Here's a screen shot of when the price changes.

    Just because they're asking $500, doesn't mean they will get it ;)

    True, it's strange they would bump the price that much for no apparent reason though!

    Snap names likes to play around with their minimums - always looking for the highest profit for themselves. They saw that all the LLLL.coms were selling and so are trying a higher start price.

    Should be re-named "SqueezeNames".

    Minimum price for the worst LLLL.coms has risen from reg fee to $35 since the start of November, and shows no sign of cooling off. There are real reasons for the rise, a price-well (opposite of a bubble) created because they were still available until November for reg fee.

    The rapid rise will slow at some point, maybe even dip a little, but LLLL.coms are now all "premium domains" and are probably going to stay that way.

    That would be a LLLN.com or a NLLL, etc..

    L = Letter
    N = Number.

    The value on those really varies right now from reg fee to low 100's. just depends at the moment.

    True. It could even be the 1 person listing all their LLLL.com domains as $500 each.

    You are probably right, but in any case, people talk too much about a hype, about a bulb, etc...

    They tend to forget 1 thing... "There are no more" Never ever in your life there will be more...

    It's like those numbered collections of coins, you have 5000 and then...zilch, zero, nill, none... and the price skyrockets. :)

    Well, I'm glad I own a few hundred of those LLLL.com's :p

    what most people also don't know is that all 4 letter domains were all registered once before and then dropped....
