Best PageRank Updater tool for phpLD?

I have tried two tools to update the PR of sites listed in my directory. The DirectorySpy tool which integrates into phpLD looks nice, but no matter what site I query it always comes back with a PR of -1.

The second tool I tried was the TechTopList tool which is standalone and works well, but is fairly primative for example it starts at the beginning of the link table every time - and with over 3000 links in my dir, it's using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Does anyone else have any good tools to update the PR of the links on their directories?

    Hi,

I have recently updated this tool with additional features, some of which allow you to specify which links you want to update - from a specified date or all new links within the last x number of days. There are many more improvements:

    Check out: http://www.techtoplist.com/prupdater/

    Regards,
    Gerald.

Brilliant, thanks Gerald! I will check it out tonight, but by the sounds of it it now does 99% of what I need!

Is there any way to "save" the DB details for different directories so that I don't have to enter them from scratch when I want to update the PR of multiple sites?

Yes, I will be releasing a new version shortly which will allow you to update multiple directories at once.

    Cheers ....
    Gerald.

Best is not to update pagerank in bulk.
You can end up with google ban for your IP.

Why not to update it continuosly?
Some of you know this is what my link popularity and link widget mods do.
PR is updated at least once per 7 days, same as other factors. PR value stored in database, the rest cached in special folder.

I have tried to use link popularity tool which I have installed on my directory, but it's not working. Maybe because I'm alternatively using directoryspy tool. The problem with the directoryspy tool is that I have to update only few links. I'm updating 500-1000 link/day... long way till 20000... probably the next PR update would catch up.

can't anyone show a good advice here?

As far I didn't notice my tool not working if installed properly.
It uses all available methods to fetch web.
If it still can't acces some information it may mean that your IP was banned from having access to some sources (eg. Yahoo, Google).
However this can be rather caused by using mass updaters than cached, periodical results.

If IP banned - you won't find good tool for PR update.
All of course require some checkings, hard to tell without tests.

Ip is not banned. Told you, the directoryspy tool works great (just noticed I have 1.00 :) ), don't know why the link popularity tool is not working.

    You never asked for support.
    And support always require testing.
Do you know that your IP can be banned for certain SE queries only?
For example: site:www.... in Google (or yahoo).
    Other queires may still work.

You could also did simple error while installation... put code in wrong place.
And please don't tell me - you did all according to tutorial, checked twice, etc.
I had big dozens of people saying same and finaly they were wrong with what the say :)
