Marketers! Should I Join Aweber.com?

I feel like I'm missing out a very successful targeted traffic method(email).

I have a review site that links to 4 affiliate sites that have the standard long "sales pitch" copy with their own autoresponder. Despite them having an autoresponder, ahould I put an Aweber AutoResponder Opt-In Form on my page also?

--If yes, where should I put it on my webpage, should I have it pop over etc..?

I don't mind the $19.95 a month, that isn't too bad, especially with the free 30 days. I get about 5-7 conversions a day, and about 700 clicks.

    What should I do?

yes, yes, yes it is such a great way to market its how the millions can start rolling in lol.

But seriously if you can afford it, it is worth it. Try to offer a killer bonus to have people join the list. I like the pop over if your site is content rich.

also do not market to your list every email, always send them free and cool stuff. Bond with them and show them that your thier friend

Don't join aweber if you already have a HUGE list.

They dont want you just adding email addresses into the program.

They want you to get NEW email addresses through their interface, which will handle everything.

    Thanks For the Advice Guys!

I joined Aweber, and am working on my followups emails as we speak.

I took the advice of the freebies, but instead of the freebies I'll be giving them quality content maybe 2 out of 3 times I send them emails.

I was really nervous, because I am already converting really well, and didn't want to scare nobody away.

I'll start collecting emails probably tommorow, if i hit any road blocks ill hit u guys up.

    Thanks again.

I wrote an auto-responder parser for them once. It was a bitch to debug.

Just to clarify, you CAN import your existing email lists into aweber but all of the users must first reconfirm their subscription using awebers confirmation process, else they won't be added to your active mailing list.

    Good luck

Out of curiosity, for those of you who use and like aweber-

Is there any benefit to using that kind of opt-in service over on-site registration?

For example- If I'm running a Joomla site that people have to register to use, once they do, in the admin interface I can mass mail all registered users.

What extra services does aweber offer that make it worthwhile?

I ask because I've never been interested in marketing that much, so I haven't checked into it,but am interested.

    Thanks

I think Aweber is great when your ready to build new list, and want automated emails. If your like me, and have email list all over the place, and just manage them via whatever service your using, than Aweber will prob not interest you as much.

For anyone that wants to move list into aweber without having to get your users to confirm the emails once more you can code your way around it, however they dont like that to much.. That said I dont think its great to move your email list to them if you already have a working list as you will shave off a good percent in the process.

They are built great for email list marketing to buy a product, but if a customer has already paid you for a service its a bit pointless.

as a former admin for a hosting company its always best to look into a service that handles just emails cause most hosting companies don't like it when you do mass emails on their servers, it uses too many resources and if you have a shared hosting account, chances are that you are using the same ip address as other sites on the same server. If that ip address gets banned from a network, say AOL, then your SOL. You would need to look into a service that can handle different ip addresses such as a VPN or Dedicated server that can manage different ips or just look into an auto responder service such as aweber or get response.

I know for sure that constant contact would not need to have new emails to opt in like aweber would though. . .

I doubt that auto responder service use an IP per customer. I think they will ban you when they get too many complaints. It is hard to say if you just loose your $$$ or also your list when this happen to you.
