I am not sure if this is where I should post this. I hope someone from the board can help me out. I am setting up a network of 20+ sites. For simplicity, I am using off the shelf scripts, mainly open source. I had a bad experience with the last programmer that I hired. So I have a small budget due to the money I lost with my last one. Even though this will be a large network of sites, I will start out with just five to test the programmer that does the work. If everything goes smoothly, I can guaranty more work. Here is more information: Host: I have a shared account and dedicated server Job: I need a single login for 5 scripts. The scripts do not need to be fully integrated, just share logins, and maybe a cookie to stay logged in site-wide. Optional: I can install the scripts myself. But I would rather the same person do everything so everything is sure to work together, and not cause problems. I can surely do it if I have time, but i dont have !! But I will suggest you how it can be done , and what opensource solutions are available. I am sure that you are trying to implement SSO (single sign on server) within your network of sites. Here is an opensource and well recognized implementation of SSO is availabe. its yale CAS (central authentication server) http://www.ja-sig.org/products/cas/ Ask me if you need more information.
That looks EXACTLY like what I need, thank you. I just do not know how to empliment it. I am sure it will work out of the box with some of my larger scripts, but I am sure there will have to be some custom coding done to get it to work with my smaller scripts. My problem is that I have no idea how to do it. Do you think there is any way you could find the time? If not, I thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Thanks again, Dustin
