Americans are not stupid.

I wish the day that we don't have borderlines, poor people around the world . I love peace .If we could spend the money that armies around the world spend every year, for poor people, guess what would happened ? We are killing our selves for money,let's kill the money for the mankind. we are not animals and we are all the same, let's think generally and not like "my country is... and your country isn't...".
God, I wish peace and no war around the world in 2008.

I don't hate Canada or any other country. It's just annoying to see people say things about America that is totally incorrect. And you look really ignorant when you say them. I love America it is my home. But I also plan to move to another country in the near future just because I want to travel. But I'll always come back to my home!

America is FILLED with genius's and smart people as well as idiots (Just like any other country. even your country! That's right!)
America has the most advanced scientist, equipment, military etc.
That's why things get sent over here to America from your country to be studied
The top 100 websites in the world were most likely started where? America.
What about the website you're on right now?
And hey, do you get to tune in to our t.v. stations and aren't American made movies watched worldwide more than any other made movies? But WHY? America is stupid right??

This isn't to brag about my country or people. It's all facts. I'm just replying to all the people that are saying how stupid America is.

I'm only saying what here in Peru say about America, and that's a very known phrase here. Just like some people in America say very bad things about Peru and other South American nations.

Anyway I removed that citation because some people might be harmed psycologicaly by that. It won't stop my people of saying it you know?

No one has anything against americans, we just get riled up when certain americans like the op say stuff like "stop speaking English, it's our language". You have to agree, that's pretty narrow minded. Otherwise how would we talk to each other on these forums?

 

I agree that it is ignorant to say that people who are not American should stop speaking English. Consequently I believe that if you want to learn our language and come to our country then more power to you.

Actually Japan is in the 20's. Highest is Luxembourg, Ireland and Norway.

 

As I've said already, my only problem with this thread and the OP is that he's glorifying America at the cost of another nation's dignity. At first, everyone who came in to defend the OP was like America is better than your country, and now everybody's like we're not saying we're superior, we just don't like you calling us stupid.

Make up your mind... are you better than us or are we equal?

And if any of you Americans (defending the OP) have an ounce of cultural exposure, you'll know that people in other countries generally don't consider Americans stupid at all. Go on a vacation to a third world country (which isn't run by a religious government), and you will be greeted with special (if not exaggerated) hospitality. I've seen a lot of Americans being treated like VIPs in India. Of course, this isn't because anyone thinks your country rules above the rest; it's simply because as Americans, you're both economically and socially better off compared to the natives.

So the only people who call you stupid are morons trying for shock value. You shouldn't be taking them seriously in the first place.

 

America BRAGS too much about their;

-supremacy over other countries
-accomplishments in terms of business and science
-power in terms of military strength

With all due respect to the other Americans in this forum, your country is so stuffed with stupid people who thinks their number 1 just like the creator of this thread. Do you wanna know why this america-is-stupid popped up? It's because this things/videos/articles are the MERE reaction to the things that you have caused due to America's ignorance.

TouchAshley made a good point for his country but dude, do we have to brag in order to show others that your country is not stupid as the video shows?

Bottomline : Stupidity is inevitably contagious and it is within everybody.

 

I'm gonna have to disagree(of course). people have it so wrong.

We don't brag about any of those things. I certainly don't go walking around shovin it in peoples faces about how powerful I think my country is..Dude, we just live our everyday lives. thats it. If you don't like an individual American or our government, then so be it, just don't group us together saying "Americans are ignorant/stupid/are braggers". Lets not forget that America is made up of people from all over the world. so you'd be talking about your people as well.

The only time I start talking about Americas accomplishments is when a thread like this comes up or something similar and there's some nonAmerican that thinks he/she has it oh so figured out! My guess is that the persons parents taught him/her that Americans are stupid.

Guess what, America is the center of the world and the spotlight is always on us. Imagine if your country or any other country always had the spotlight on it. I garauntee it would be talked about and criticized the same way!

That's the point dude! but the sad thing is, this reply should be read by the one who started this thread right? and I never said that I don't like America(capitalized?)

You guys don't know how we Filipinos felt when we were discriminated on that particular episode on Desperate Housewives.

It's not like everyday you get discriminated like that internationally.. by the ones we Filipinos consider allies. Can you blame me? or us if some of us feel that way?
