Well, I think even if you are making hundreds of thousands of dollars with adsense, you'll still need a real job. Adsense is just for earning extra money and sometimes.. that "extra money" means HUGE amount of money.
Why? If you have good diversity of sites(i dont) and working with various affiliates and/or PPCs your income will be ensured..taking that you know what you are doing. I do not have any "real" job except my sites and from time to time doing some SEO and/or sites for clients from home. I do not earn much but menage to live..somehow happy and especially for that I miss the 1 hour 1-way journey across the city to some office and stay there 8 hours . I prefer stay here/home/ drink some beer while working or just do anything at anytime if i am not in mood to work...
How is having a "real job" so to speak, more secure than adsense? You can just as easily get fired and lose your source of income just as Google can disable your account. If you earn over 4 figures consistently, I say go for it. Depends how much money you make, how much money you need and how comfortable you are in losing your current job. Saying it's "stupid" is wrong, because while it may be stupid for you and for some people, it may very well work for others. Anything has a risk factor and nothing is secure in life, we just need to keep adapting to situations.
Working on... and making money from... your websites can be just as much a "real job" as any other. It just means you are working for yourself (often from home), not someone else. You get all the benefits- and responsibilities. If you really want to make a go of it, you have to take it seriously, as a job. However, once you're on a roll, it can give you much more freedom and choice. And opportunities to do other things, and live your life much more the way you want. But you still have to be disciplined and put in the effort. Do what is necessary, not only to sustain, but to grow your sites/income. That's just my $1,000,000's worth, anyway.
Absolutely and entirely agreee! You have to take it even more seriously than any other job since you are working for yourself, and if you are not lazy results shall come!
If you diversify your income between different publisher services theres no reason why internet can be your only job.
Making money by working for others or for yourself thats what you have to decide. I decided to work for myself and I am happy I did.
well this is long story started way back before 5 years when i started learning adsense money making and worked hard for getting things right..... Path was very hard but somehow i focused well and today adsense is giving me $15k per month from 10 websites i have These days i am working as full time adsense consultant and having 100+ clients across the world
That's a nice position to be in IndianIdol. $50/day on average from each of your sites. Over a year that's a nice bit of pocket money.
ya, that sounds good pocket money. I am currently having real income only from 2-3 of my sites/mainly 1 and mine most serious project/. Nothing from a 2 months new site and nothing from 1 about australia, although its on 1st pages and position(in yahoo) for its main keywords..no one wants to go in australia..
As much as I'm curious like the OP the obvious answer is someone, somewhere is...I really don't think relying on the number one advertiser on the net for your income is bad or stupid. The answer is an emphatic yes...lots of money is being made with adsense so this question really lacks focus.
true but its not as easy as getting banned from adsense. The company doesn't know who you are and they don't care. They are making billions of dollars and banning one of the publishers won't make a lot of difference. Your Boss (real job) knows you. And have feelings too.
Well, even if you do get banned from adsense you still have your sites and traffic. You can simply switch to other ads, maybe they don't pay as well as adsense, but you'll still make money. Its not like getting fired - then you will have to apply for new jobs and lots of hassle and way more trouble compared to getting a ban from adsense.
Google make $11 miliion every day from advertising. So , yes someone can make a living form yje net ! )))
