How important is advertising with adsense?

Well im not talking about adwords. But i have some sites making oright money. Just from search engines. I want to pick up my performance though.

And im going to advertise. Get banners on massive sites in the same niche as me, preferrably really popular forums.

I need to know, though. Is there a way to work this out, in relation to if it will be profitable for me with adsense. Whether the extra adsense earnings will cover my costs?

It depends if those sites convert any good. or else you will spend $100 and make $50. test it out for some time. Its often seen that websites sending traffic to you dont really convert well for adsense.

I believe it is against TOS to advertise your site for the reason of generating money with Adsense. It is a tricky policy because you can still advertise. Confusing... I know. Adsense Blog says the advertising needs to meet their guidelines. Just make sure you read their guidelines before taking action.

    Your kidding right.

You can't buy banner space on other sites? Now i have heard it all.

Anyone clarify this? I think its totally wrong.

I've never heard of this policy. I'd like to know how they would know. I burn through almost $2,000 USD/daily with adwords and send the traffic to a large array of sites for profit. While I use adsense on some of them, I generally put CPM banners on them and default to adsense. I only make 30k/month with adsense right now :/ however I haven't been banned. Just my two sense.

Yeh its definetely not true. No way could it be true.

    Which is total hogwash.

It looks like you did not read the link I gave you or the whole post. It is ok to advertise but you need to make sure you follow Adsense's guidelines. There use to be a ton of advertisements for firefox with google toolbar. Adsense changed the policy and now you do not see any ads. Like I said, "It is a tricky policy because you can still advertise." Just make sure you read their policies.

I guess if the traffic you will be getting is targeted, then it might work well for you.

Hopefully it does work well for me.

    Its definetely allowed right abhik?

Like all im doing is buying advertising space on same niche forums and putting my sites banner on it.
