godaddy 60 day wait dispute - any way to opt out of this

im currently in dispute with these lamers who seem to think that they can hold my domain hostage after a internal godaddy account push for 60 days. i want to transfer the domain out to another registrar - i have done this with other registrars so i know its possible.

their agreement says opt in so does anyone know how i can get an opt out or cancel my contract with them

i guess contract cacellation would be the quickest way - anybody understand the contract? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

Beats me how you'd possibly "cancel" the contract. But by doing so, you lose
    the domain name as well.

Not sure which part is "opt in". But their transfer policy indicates the 60 day
thing, which you agree to nonetheless.

Have you tried elevating the issue to a supervisor?

yeah they got you by the balls! i'm trying to get their lawyers address from support adn write to them to find out how to stop this nonsense.

its an outrage they lock you in like this - just another reason why i will never ever use this company - totally unethical behavior like this does not give me any confidence in them.

It is clearly stated in ICANN policy that these are the rules. Don't blame Godaddy for enforcing them. Sure thay don't have to enforce it, but they have the right to if the domain is registered at Godaddy.

im sorry but that is not the case - this only applies after a registrar transfer not a push within go daddy.

i've had domains pushed to me at other registrars and had them transferred to another register within 7 days. the 60 wait for internal pushes at godaddy is their own rule, not icanns.

they are to blame for holding my property hostage and i want out!

Sorry, but it's not your property. You know very well your rights are limited by all
the terms of your registrar's registration agreement, which you agree to even if
you don't out of personal principle.

It might interest you to know there have been cases where the 60-day hold was
instrumental in preventing a hijacked domain name from being transferred out. Of
course, the drawback to that is the inconvenience you're experiencing now.

Tell you what: email president AT godaddy DOT com and state your complaint. I
just found that in my notes, though I don't know if that still works.
