I have to tell you that I had my banner placed in directoricritic for 1 month, because I wanted to test if it worth 40$ per month placing my ad there. The surprise was that I was getting more visitors per day than from the banner ad placed on their main. I canceled the subscription there. To get back on the topic, my best traffic source is still directorycritic and the paid direcctories I submit. Only 6% on my traffic comes from search engines.
that's really cool, if you are getting traffic from yahoo. because i am getting just few visitors. google is my best bet for free traffic. actually getting quite a lot. did you optimised your site for yahoo.
Thats the funny thing is that i haven't optimised for yahoo, infact ive often forgot completely about efforts i could make to optimise for it, so i may spend a little time reading and target yahoo (not obsessively) and see how it goes. As far as im aware is that yahoo places more importance with on-site seo?

My main thing is i dont target yahoo, but yet it sends me traffic, now if i can just adopt the same approach for google i should be fine, maybe theres some truth in not doing it for the search engines after all.
