skunk: thanks for the entry but it's too plain for me. I don't mind something simple and stylish, but yours appears to be too plain. I don't think the logo and the background go well together when they're both the same colour. You said you don't expect to win but at the same time you said you would be willing to make some changes. If you do want to make some changes and perhaps have a chance to win, I think you need to come up with something a little more creative ch0z9: thanks for the entry. I also find your entry a little plain even though it's the best of all so far. I like how you used the red and the white scheme and both pictures are visible, but I also think your entry is a little plain. Again, I don't mind simple but plain is something that I am not after. And perhaps the last thing is I wanted my logo to look bigger. Davey: thanks for the try. Of all the entries yours is the one with the most visible logo which is a big plus. I like how you placed the logo in its own "frame" so it would stand out. It's simple and stylish but not quite there. I think it looks a little web 2ish. I would have preferred a more natural look where you could see the photo clearer. As it is now, you can't really tell the guy is exercising. This is because of the red shade you applied to the photo. Now, I am really happy with this logo, but I think the header is not on the same level as the logo. I am still hoping for something a little more creative and with more of a natural (real life) look. I am not sure if this makes sense.
I won't be making any changes, sorry. I was just posting to fill some time since there weren't many entries and you needed a bump. Thanks for the critiques though haha. Take care, and good luck.
labedline: thanks for giving this a go. It's the best one so far, but your guess was right: I do find it a little plain. However, it does have potential: if you were to include the tagline underneath the logo and move the whole middle rectangle up so the tagline could fit underneath that would be a big improvement. I like how the logo looks highly visible. RNHalawi: no hurry. I am also going to bed and like I said, I want to let this run until the 31st January but if I find something I like I want to end it sooner.
Here are the improved ones: In the second one the idea is to include some lighting effects, so the logo can appear even more visible. Any changes and proposals are again welcomed.
The competition is heating up. I will be honest and say I am seeing improvements but still a little short of what I was hoping: Labedline: definitely an improvement. It looks better but so does the competition now. It looks pleasant, you followed my instructions well but hmm.... it just hasn't got the winning look. Again, it's hard to judge as it does have a few strong points: such as the logo looking big. RnHalawi: definitely moving in the right direction. After seeing yours and jmul7 entry I must say I am a lot more inclined towards the smaller photos. I think if you use smaller photos that puts the emphasys on the logo and also gives you more space to be more creative. I am not sure about those curvy lines. It's definitely looking better and it's now in my top two along with jmul7. Still, although I am not a designer I still feel like bot can be improved. Jmul7: Cherio. Thanks for the entry. It's in the top two at the moments. I must say I like the idea of having smaller photos which is what you did. It's a nice pleasant stylish entry but I am not sure how you can improve it. I will tell you what I don't like: the logo doesn't come through as visible as I would have wanted. I do like the small twist that you added in the way you positioned the words super supplements under the icon (the big S). Just somehow the background that you used for the logo doesn't grab me. I would have liked a cleaner background that would have made the logo more visible. However, using just a plain white background for the logo may ruin the whole look by making the header appear plain. So I am not sure what you can do. DaveyBoy: again, thanks for the entry. It looks better but for some reason I am now leaning a little more towards the headers with the smaller photos as they appear somehow a little more creative. I like how the logo looks big and impressive on this header but that's about where the positive stops. I understand this is your last entry but you got to understand: I really like this logo (created by a top designer also here at DP) so therefore I am a little fussy making sure I will have a header worthy of it.
Thanks Labedline: looks much better. You don't need to change anything. I will let you know when I decide on a winner. I haven't made up my mind but your design is one I am considering.
RNHalawi: Definitely an improvement and a big one as well. Thanks for making it harder for me to choose a winner
