Health care for Adsense publishers?

What do ya think if Google offered health care to adsense publishers? Perhaps if we paid so much out of our monthly income... we could be under whatever coverage they provide for their employees?

I'd definitely be up for it, but think it might take an online petition with lots of backers to turn it into a reality.

Think it would work... or just a pipe dream?

I'm thinking if they set a limit....say for publishers making $xx,xxx/year and over. Not like they are broke, surely they could afford to help out a bit :)

There is also the jurisdiction issue since Adsense publishers are from all over the globe and different countries may have different laws in regards to insurance.

Besides like Fka200 said, we are not employees but self-employed independent publishers and they are under no obligations to provide any employee benefits. You could always get your own :)

I get what you're saying, but they aren't a charity. It would be a nice gesture, but extremely unlikely. I'd think you should be making more than $xx,xxx for it to be even considered! Probably 6 figures.

The best thing about being a web designer is we spend 99% of our life behind a computer. The chance of us getting hurt is slim lol.

ya - but what about family members? the only thing keeping me from quiting my day-job is healthcare benefits because my wife is ill..

pipe-dream though.. although it's possible some enterprising 3rd-party insurance company might come up with a policy "just for Adsense publishers".. like those 2am TV commercials I see for insurance for "baby boomers only" or "55 and older only" ..

I'm just thinking if any company could do something, Google could... if we all pitched in moola out of our adsense account... ahh.. what's the use. The only way it could possibly work is if a bunch of adsense publishers united and picketed outside their headquarters. Then they'd just ban us. LOL

guys , just forget it. Google wont take any pain in giving health benefits. again, they have to manage insurance companies on your behalf. manage group insurances in each countries, who pays that cost? of course they would deduct it from you but the whole managing part is pain in their a$$.

This doesnt sound even remotely viable for them.
